Hello, for those of you with the Ralliart Sports ECU for the evo 7, Is the immobilizer functionality still there after installation?

Thanks in advance.

There are 2 versions of the ecu, one for RHD and one for LHD cars. The LHD version does away with the immobilizer, the RHD one retains it. If memory serves correctly, the left hand drive models do not have the immobilizer fitted from the factory, but all RHD models do....but don't quote me on that

Adam,
Is the RalliART ECU swappable into the Evo8? I mean is it as simple as "plug-n-play?"

Thanks for all your replies... here is a snippet from an email that TANDERS (you rock dude!! ) sent to me in reply to this question :

"The Rally competition ECU is the one that you should avoid because you car wouldn't start coz of the immobilizer. But for the Sports ECU (street version), there is no problem with the immobilizer. The car will start with the new ECU. That's the other reason why I got the Ralliart Sports ECU, since when I bought it before, there are no other ECU in the market at that time that can fix the immobilizer problem."

Seems I have me some learnin' to do. What's the immobilizer problem with regards to ECUs and starting the car? Searching now, but coming up pretty empty.

[edit]Nevermind, I see now. Not an issue.[/edit]

Let us know if it works and how much more horsepower than baseline I'm sure ralliart will offer the higher quality of performance.

I'm already interested. Just need JDM cams

The Ralliart ecu is available now. We'll have 3 or 4 the week after next.

What is your understanding of the benefits of this ECU? If it gives me back 30HP, I'll take one.

Speedlimit.........

On previous models, the ecu was good as a simple, no tuning required way to get additional HP, quicker spool, and increased power throughout the rev range. While not as desirable as a full on standalone, it is mapped by the good folks at Ralliart, so it yeilds stock driveability and is truly plug and play. We have several customers here in the states with the unit in their LHD Evo 7's, and all reported very positive results.

I should have the full details in hand by this time next week, and look for a dyno sheet as soon as we can humanly get it!
