What should i Do??????

Hey Everyone im new to the site and ive seen alot of good advice come from here soo ive come on to ask for some suggestions on what i should do and the reality of where my car would be. I ultimatley want to hit a high to mid 11 on pump gas and be reliable doing it.

I originally had an 05 STI, but sold it cause i spent soo much money and had very little to show for it. When i saw how easy the Evo's were making power with very little money spent i decided to pick one up. I have an 05 Evo with an AMS Catback Afc II, ACt CLutch, and K&N Drop in filter (boost is set to hold at 20psi). i hit a 13.0 at 104.3 60ft was 1.96 (I only got 2 runs too !!!)

Ok soo here are my ideas- First is either an AMS or buscher Stroker kit(i dont know which one is better) with a 20g, 272's, injectors, and either an AEM EMS or a flash which im not sure will really work well witht the setup. The only thing im afraid of is that with an EMS i heard you constantly have to be tunning it, and i know very little about tunning sooo i feel as though im in a jam and i dont live anywhere near anybody that does good work (Rochester NY).

option 2 is same idea with the stroker kit, 272's, ect... but with an AMS turbo kit. I hear alot of good things with the 35R, but only if you plan to use race gas in it and the spool up time isnt great when just using 93octane. I want a fast spooling turbo, but i want to get some power out of it and i heard the 20g on pump gas might not cut it? soo i would probably go with a 3071R

IDK im STUCK!!HELP LOL....Ne suggestions?? O and nebody know about the how well the tranny will hold up if i plan to build a car like this and is there ways to strenth it sooo i dont blow nething. I want to have a reliable fast street car that wont be breaking down and need constant tunning and replacing of parts.

Thanks mike

Checkout smogrunner and evodaves posts. They have pretty fast spoolup on 35r's and nice numbers.I think evodave is running a 2.0 and smog runs a 2.3.

GT35 is serious overkill if you are only looking to be doing high-mid 11's. Please do yourself a favor and don't buy a turbo that large.

Yes, i am getting the 3076r and i hear it's a great comprimise between strip and street, and i hear it's one of the best street turbo's available with a stock block I should be getting that within the next few days and i can let you know how it goes. Oh, BTW, good switch from an STI

You should first add 272 or 280 cams and get a good reflash before upgrading turbo. Get a down pipe to make it a turboback and free up the exhaust some more. After that learn to drive better and you will be close.

I am running the 264 cams only because i have heard the stories about the idle being messed up with the 270 and bigger cam's. But i may switch depending on how much power i get from the 264 cams, the 3076 kit and the other mod's that i have. Do you have any 3076 kits in mind? I know that if you are wanting to get a bigger kit like the 35r a stroker is a VERY good thing to have. I plan on doing the stroker with the 76 but idk exactly what it will do, so i'm still debating on that. I will definately let you know how it goes and give you a complete list of mod's that i have so you can get an idea of what it does. Talk to you soon

Im almost positive that im going to go with AMS's kit becuase i believe in them and have been the most helpful. Im still not 100% sure, but most likely they will be who i by the kit from. yeah i think a 35r is overkill... I think with a stroker and the 76R i should hit my goal and be a reliable daily driver.

Ohhhh... whats your opinion about alcohol injection??

Pick up the latest issue of C&D. Buschur was going 0-60 in 3.5 seconds on the "stock" turbo and "stock" 2.0L block. I can't recall if it was 91 octane (if it was California) then yes - otherwise it was 93-93 octane. Take a gander at his thread aswell as he describes the buildup of his car. And last no offense but a 1.9 60 foot sucks donkey nutz. Oh, and if your wallet is extra heavy, give Switzer a call to beef up your tranny. That is all...

whtevo, AMS is a very good company, and so is RNR. I've heard good things about both. Rnr has offered me a price and that is who i am buying from because their price was unbeatable for the 76r. That was one of my problems. Just choosing between companies. The turbo manifolds look really good on the rnr kits, but they dont come with an air intake like the AMS. But that's not really such a big deal. Just look into it and see what you like best to make your decision.

Oh and BTW, with the 76r and correct mod's done to your car, you will be hitting your goal. We pretty much share the same goal. With a stroker kit, you will def be hitting your goal.
