Does anyone know of any how-to's out there on replacing ball joints on our cars?

i didnt find any but what exactly is wrong with your joint? Go under your car and look at it. If its just the rubber boot, then you can easily just put that on. If its the joint completly, you need a hydrolic press (machine shop) or some type of strong clamp to force the joint out. Go on youtube to see how to videos.

How to? KISS go to autozone they sell them. Rent the ball joint press while you are there. If you can't figure it out don't do it.

Also be careful with the press if you do it yourself.

I did my ball joints on the Cobra and managed to get a very old used rental press. It was on its last leg and actually exploded shooting shrapnel everywhere.

Luckily I was not hit but it could have been like a bullet. Put chips in the concrete beside my house the size of a quarter. I got my money refunded and rented another press to finish the other side.

**** happens when playing with these presses..... stand far away with a 3 foot pipe to turn the press and wear a leather jacket and eye protection. I will next time for sure.
