In my professional opinion yes. As far as the fact that its about $1700+ I don't know.
There is alot to be said about taking that money and doing a turbo upgrade for even more potential.
That of course will depend on whatthe users modifications on the car would be. As I have said before the 9 turbo mated with a good set of high lift cams will be a great combination for the 8.

Here's some funny stuff that happened on the dyno last night. We use a Dyno Dynamics dyno which looks like this:

Below are two graphs. One of torque and one of whp. Each graph has three runs on it. The brown run is the stock EVO IX with just a remapped ECU. And the red and blue runs represent the addition of a full exhaust (dp, cat and cat-back) at various states of unfinished tune.


Can anyone guess what kinda happened on the red run and REALLY happened on the blue one? Hint: There was nothing inherently wrong with the tune (no det, knock retard, boost drop, etc,.)
