Do you have an 05 or an 03-04?

03, but it doesn't matter. I have a TME, IC, 93 octane, test pipe, cam gears, and cams in addition to what that car has and still don't have that kinda torque.. Even if you have an 05, they're all getting destroyed by that reflash+exhaust Mivec car in this thread.

It won't. I'm sure Nick is great, but VIIIs don't make the power IXs will with light bolt ons.

Is the IX cat the same as the VIII, or could it be freer flowing?

Congratulation on your work Shiv !

I'm amase at the Trq curve you could get out of this motor on such mods.

I also received an e-mail from EcuTeK Japan about cams for the EVO9, Jun is doing some development work and they should come out by the spring.

They also said that EVO8 exhaust cams gave some very good results on the EVO9.

Not sure, it is different cosmetically in that the o2 sensor is attached to it vs. after the cat on the VIII however.

Off-topic, but..
That's incorrect - the 02 is attached to the pipe after the cat on the IX. The cat is exactly the same.
The exhaust is nearly the same as the VIII (Bends, mounting points, etc) Some downpipes will have to be clearanced slightly to make room for the larger center diff. Also the turbo elbow has a larger exit whereas some donuts wont fit over the flange.

On 91oct, it comfortably made anywhere from 290-295whp. On 93oct, it made 305-310whp. I have some more IX to tune during the next 2 week introdructory special so I'm eager to see how much tweaking is necessary to adapt the map to different cars.

Cheers,
Shiv

I have an IX MR sitting in my garage that I installed a Greddy Ti cat back on it and had to plug the O2 housing built into the cat back because the IX no longer uses that location.

And to quote Buschur:

Do a search for exhaust + IX + cat and you will find tons of references to the o2 in the converter for IX change.
