yes! SG it is. did the blown turbos give it all away? :P how's your car holding up? in any case, i'm still eagerly awaiting shiv's reply to see how feasible tuning/flashing ecus from abroad. and how long it'll take.

i've seen your other packages on your website shiv. i'm assuming that pricing for the 9's arent out yet?

thanks in advance...

Don't understand what is bad about that. Any other impressions with the ix? Does it pull comfortably to high speeds?

He didn't mean "disgusting" in a bad way. I think he meant it like, "It's disgusting how a ~$30k car pulls as smoothly and strongly as a ~$100k car."

shiv,

so the main idea of this 9+ page post is that the new EVO 9 comes out of the factory underated at 286 hp. the true hp readings for the EVO 9 should be ~320-340. am i correct?

I dyno'd my stock IX on a dynojet at 270whp at 92 degrees F
Note, on the same dyno, the '03-04 Evo's were doing around 230-240whp.

Wow, 270whp, again proves my point that the IXs are really strong. I believe (stock) lower powered ones will dyno at 05 VIII levels, while (stock) average IXs will make more power, and (stock) higher powered IXs will dyno a lot higher than VIIIs.

I don't know if that is the main idea but, yes, the IXs are considerably stronger than the VIIIs, stock for stock. They also seem to have a higher tuning potential by virtue of MIVEC and upgraded turbo. Stock, with just a properly reflashed ECU, IXs can make nearly as much power as VIIIs runnning a full exhaust and cams. That was very unexpected to say the least. Equally unexpected was all the different things that one could tweak to approach max output while not sacrificing anything.

Shiv, if you get the time while you are in your dyno program. Will you post on the same sheet a dyno of a average VIII that was stock on your dyno along with the Ix you have dynoed and also the Ix cam run that was zeroed out.

I would like to see on another chart a tuned IX vs a tuned VIII.

Bump for seeing the IX tuned to 93.

Thanks for posting those 2 sheets.

Nope. We're still playing the stock car. I have some ideas I want to put to the test first The exhaust will just require simple remapping over what we currently have. The key is to get a solid foundation first with the stock car.
