Is unoptimized for power and optimized for spoolup two different things or one in the same in this instance? I'm guessing optimized it for emissions and spoolup second?

Quick update while the dyno room cools down. Compared to the standard MIVEC tables, we've already been able to reduce spool-up by 300-350rpm. And we're not even done yet. As for top end, not only have we been able to virtually eliminate top end power roll-off, we've boosted the midrange power substantially.

As for midrange power, perhaps the most interesting tidbit of info I can offer at this point is that the car is *already matching stock VIII horsepower by just under 4000RPM!*

Graphs to follow later tonight....

The more Shiv posts, the more my wallet and marriage emit silent screams of protest.

Get that ecu mapped and the XEDE IX harnesses made as soon as you can I gotta get this car to the point where I can slaughter my dad's new Carrera S.

Ok... here's what we have so far.

These following runs compare our massaged MIVEC table (blue), the standard stock MIVEC table (red) and a Zero'd out MIVEC table (brown--no cam timing changes).

Here's torque and boost:

Here's whp:

Once again, this is a completely stock EVO 9. Only mod is an extensively remapped ECU.

'nuff said

Mmmmm vWTF sounds like a winner so far. That remapped MIVEC made quite a difference over the normal and screw the idea of turning it off!

So if i'm not mistaken, thats 280wtq and 270whp on your dyno which equates to what ~400flyhp? Can you do a quick run in shootout mode?

Terry S (i need to just drive up there and hang out next to your dyno all day I think)
