Trust me when I say that I'm not to the point of wanting to trade my car in for a new '06 Evo 9. That would be pointless. I love the 8's and everything about them.

My point is that the new 9's have a really nice head start as opposed to the 8's, and that's great. It just inspires a little envy.

Heck, I'll likely be getting an Evo 9 turbo or Buschur 20G9 anyway!

Update:
We put another 400 miles on the car yesterday (back and forth to sacremento twice). The car performed flawlessly. The pull in 5th gear at 4500rpm is outrageous. Anywhere above 3000rpm, there is quite literally no perceivable boost lag. And with power building all the way to 7200rpm, there is a huge amount of useable power band. Right now, flywheel estimates are in the 350-360bhp range. We have some additional partial throttle MIVEC tuning we want to do today. After that we'll install the exhaust and see what we can ring out of it. And then back to the SMOG station.

I am eager to see what effect additional tuning of the MIVEC system, and a complete exhaust will have on the car.

Any ETA on when us IX owners can schedule a tune? I mean is this weeks away perhaps from adding it to your offerings?

It really depends on how sensitive the IX is to changes in its MIVEC tables. So far, it seems to respond very well. That's certainly a good thing. But it also stinks that it requires a lot more testing/tuning to really take advantage of it. The ~360bhp the car is currently making with just a ECU remapping on 91oct tells you just how deeply we are getting into this ECU. There are a lot of little nooks and crankies in there where hp is being hidden

So 270-275whp is about 350-360bhp?

1.33

I think you can take into account about a 33% loss = take their whp #'s x 1.33 = bhp.

I could be wrong, but..........

Shiv, have u found if the pressure sensor (barometric) and air temp sensor found on the MAF trims either the fueling or timing maps ?
