I probably should have posted my dyno/update into this thread instead of my exhaust thread...oh well. Here it is!

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...=167708&page=3

On this turbo kit, AVO is going to make another downpipe that (they claim) clears the crossbars. I'm not sure they knew that their turbo-kit downpipe wouldn't clear (their downpipe for the stock turbo does clear). For those of you wondering, yes, they are going to send me another one to replace mine .

As for the missing gaskets, I'm not running any between the turbo and manifold, or between the O2 housing and the downpipe. No leaks! Since I made mention of this to AVO, they shipped me out some gaskets to make me feel better. Even though I don't need them at the moment, it was really good of them to ease my concerns that way. AVO is a top-notch company, if you hadn't gathered that by now.

Everything else is fully functional. I won't tell you that the car always runs as perfectly as the stock ECU, but if a stranger were to drive it, he/she wouldn't know the difference. AEM is also a great choice, and I'm sure you'll be happy with it.
Dam so that mean you probably can run a hks vpc also if someone were to develop a conversion harness or something. Did you have to swap over cam angle sensor or something.

All of the mods were made to the patch harness. All the wiring under the hood is stock. I'd say anything you can run on a 2G ECU is possible with the Evo.

yes you can..

you'd flip if you know the price!!

FYI.. the cracked manifold issue was due to poor tuning.. been running that manifold for more than a year and a couple of trackdays..

Quick Questions..

Can you utilize an aftermarket downpipe (other than the AVO) as you can with the Owen Developments Kit?

Is the O2 Housing a true 3" piece?

Any idea what kind of turbocharger assembly is included with the R-Type Kit? I've been very interested in a 50-Trim for some time now, but don't know where else to look besides AMS, TT, and Shearer.

It's absolutely amazing how similiar the AVO system looks by comparison to the Owen Developments. I was/am very interested in the APS, but I can't seem to obtain definitive information/pricing on their kits.

Thanks in advance!!

Hi Rich. (I actually met you one night out in NJ and bought that one tire from you if you recall..)

To answer your questions:
1.) I don't believe you can use any other downpipe with this kit because it is custom, though I'm not absolutely positive about this. I actually have two (both full 3" SS). One with a few bends that easily clears both stock bars, and another with minimal bends that doesn't clear either bar. Both downpipes utilize a flex section.

2.) Yes, the O2 housing is true 3".

3.) Sorry, I don't know which CHRA they are using in the "R" kit. However, I did learn that they are using a 3076 -18 in mine. This is a 50lb/min turbo (~500hp) per Garrett.

It's funny you brought this thread back up today. I'm actually considering going a different direction (i.e. stock to sell) with the car and may be putting this kit up on the market, although I've loved this setup.
