Check your Hallman MBC, I had a massive leak there.

I think your first priority is fixing the boost leak and figuring out why your car is down about 25-30 whp compared to other 05's with similar mods.

You also might want to check the BOV to make sure it isnt cracked, in addition to the IC pipes. It might not be a bad idea to upgrade to a JDM MR bov if your going to be running higher boost on meth.

Once you get your car sorted out on pump, then turn on the meth/water and get it tuned.

Also, figure out exactly what you want out of the car. 350 whp is sort of a threshold number, in that you can get pretty close to it on the stock turbo on pump gas. 370 whp almost always requires significantly higher than stock boost levels and race fuel or meth/water injection.

Cool man, good luck. An experienced Evo owner (or other turbo car for that matter) in the area might be able to help you out with that boost leak test if you cant get to a shop.

I have about the same setup and get around 340 to the wheel, only thing really different is the P2 tune from Works.. using 93 / 100 oct mix...

My goal is to get 365whp at least out of my ongoing setup on 93oct. The last time I was at the dyno I made 346whp with an old-school Hallman which was only holding 17.5-18psi at redline. I replaced that soon after and its been holding much better.

Also, since then Ive gotten the BR FMIC/piping, DC tubular mani, Helix 02, and ported 10.5. All exhaust parts just listed have been ceramic coated as well. I have only installed the DC mani out of the bunch but my car is making great power.

As a bad comparo.. I know I know... I raced a recently tuned car (yesterday) today who made 352whp. I pulled it 2 times from 3rd gear roll-ons. I would only assume Im definitely making more than 352whp, enough to pull away from one who just dynoed that.

Anyway, Ill be back on the dyno when I get my ported/coated hotside back and my 02 then going back for a retune since my car is running quite rich.

my buddy is the other evo soon2BEVO raced...he's got an 03 and he's basically got the same mods as you cept he's got a ported hotside, non ported helix o2 housing, maxford header and lower IC piping...i think once you fixed your leak and put in a ported/coated header, o2 housing, and port your hotside, you'd hit around 370 on pump gas...

fix your boost leak first and address any other known deficiencies. You might be able to pull that hp out of your current setup. Throwing on more mods to try to compensate for known problems at this point would be somewhat a waste of money imo. Fix what's broke, and then see how the car does on the dyno.

it's all a moot point until you fix the known boost leak

could be, just depends on how big the boost leak was. Everything else being equal, any air that was going through the boost leak will know go through the engine, and it will run leaner. If knock is detected, the ECU will pull timing and you could actually lose power by fixing your boost leak until you get a retune.

If it was an off the shelf flash, you should be ok and probably pick up power as the off the shelf flash doesn't have a boost leak programmed into it, and you're currently running pig rich. But if it was a custom tune like you say, and Al was tuning to the limits on a/f and timing, you might actually lose power after you fix the boost leak by running too lean and timing being pulled.

Al said my boost leak was small. He said it wasnt that bad. But that 318whp was all he could muster out of it. He said if i get it fix i should be fine. Well i hope he
is right!
