Sorry no dyno plot. I actually wanted want but dunno where to get. All the tuning was done via road tuning and through a laptop.

What was surprising was at stock my 9 was peaking at 17psi, unusually low. Now it holds at 20, and once I saw it go a little above that.

Really? How many 9 have you heard of or personally seen without a tune that was not affected?

I want one more for the sound (yes I know it is stupid!) but dont want to lose power or have idling issues. I did a few tests in my garage and lifted the top cover of the airbox and noticed the idling change, as soon as I put the cover back on it changes again, no stalling but the idling does change a bit. Is this the same issue for the 8s? I tried the same thing with my miata and the engine dies when I take out the filter.

I think it is too early to draw that conclusion without proper dyno testing and a large population sample. There aren't that many EVO9s out there to begin with.

RMR intercooler pipes and Injen upper intercooler pipe/intake combo does NOT fit. HKS RS is a tight fit also.

Idling isn't the real issue. It's the distortion of the MAF readings and unaccounted for lean/rich issues that throw off the stock tune when at WOT.

Yea I thought he was just referring to idle as he didn't ask about anything else. A tune with an intake is highly suggested.

I agree with your statement.

I did see my first two IXs last week though

Well if somebody is willing to donate an aftermarket intake I will happily perform research on my 9 for the benefit of the community!
