What is the spec for Operating Temp?

I searched and couldn't find anything. So can anyone with an 05 Mitsu Evo8 shop manual tell me what the spec is for OT. Thanks

its normally 180-195 for a normal vehicle i cant imagine that this it any different

Yeah, I know, but I've been reading around 164-172'F on my obd2 logger. Also for the past couple months I've been getting really bad mpg's. It's like the car is not going into closed loop but the o2 sensors are switching just fine. BTW this evo is totally stock.

You might have a bad coolant temp sensor. That would explain nothing into closed loop and your bad fuel economy.

Either that or a stuck open T-stat. I know it's barely hitting 20 degrees outside. But my fans still turn on when idling for a while. This tells me I'm still hitting 190 degrees.

You might want to have the dealer check it out.

what i can do is, i have a mac tools code reader (like the $1000 obd1 and obd2) it also does instant sensor readings (datastream) ill plug it into my buddies MR and let you know what happens. now all i have to do is talk him into letting me plug it in. lol

Ah yes.. good point Us California wimps forget that it gets that cold in other places
