Just got Ceramic Coating done...

Well, I port/polished and gasket matched my stock exhaust manifold and turbo exhaust housing (10.5 hotside). I also had a Helix O2 housing that needed a bit of "cleaning up" (portmatching, smoothing out some sharp edges, etc) and had all three components as well as the top heat shield ceramic coated satin black at www.performancecoatings.com. I am AMAZED, the quality of work was outstanding and it looks really good, not to mention I am really shootin for a stock appearance as much as possible (no blingage under the hood for me if at all possible). I installed everything and started the car. Ran it down the street a bit and immediately noticed how much faster spool up is. I'm not sure if it's because my car was outta commision for 2 weeks while I did the porting/polishing and sent to the coaters and I forgot how the car drove or if it really is that much stronger, but this car feels alot more powerful. Well, I also did the O2 housing upgrade, so that may have helped some.

Anyway, after driving around for a day or so, I noticed my EG temps are lower by almost 200 degrees at similar loads/speeds as compared to before....

Close to the best $200 I spent so far...

I have this being done at Buschur as we speak - 10.5 turbine/o2/mani (all stock). Ported/coated and gasket-matched. I will definitely take pics of the parts when they arrive and after they are installed, then provide my butt dyno thoughts followed by actual dyno results.

I also noticed, after even hard drivin, I can put my hand about a half an inch away from the heat shield and it only feels warm to slightly hot...

What color are your exhaust pieces? I know you got the shield coated black, but what about the actual exhaust parts?

everything was done in the same flat/sastin black...it looks pretty nice too as it gets rid of that rusted look of the manifold. I was gonna have Buschur do it, but they would only do it in the silver color. I wanted to keep it lookin stock as possible so even tho performance was #1 priority, I also was picky about color choice...

Is there anything on Bushur's site about coatings? I'm not seeing it. Curious as to what they charge...

But these prices are for both coated AND ported...but I'm sure they could just coat it if you've done your own porting...

One point to mention is that the prices have been LOWERED.

It is now $175 total for porting and coating, because Dave found a cheaper place to do the coating, I believe. The individual prices are $100 and $75, but I can't remember which is which. Either Dave, Jarrod, or both of them explained this in another thread somewhere.

Btw, my 10.5 hotside/o2/mani all arrived yesterday and are on the way back to me today. Talk about great turnaround!
