i believe i asked a question a while back about all 3 ACD lights being on at the same time. i did as sugested and had the system bleed, only to have the lights continue to come on.

i held it off for a while because i thought it was going to be a major expense to fix. and a friend told me to check my ABS sensors on the car to see if they needed to be cleaned.

while doing that i found one of the sensor lines had been cut. i was able to splice it back together and now the car has no more issues. so if this happens to any of you try checking the sensors

Just curious, is there a way to bleed the ACD manually?
I checked the FSM and it only shows bleeding the ACD using the special tool.

Turn the ignition on and apply full throttle, this will activate the ACD pump, open the bleed nipple until all the air is gone, easy! (Don't let it run out of fluid.)

Thanks!
BTW, does the throttle need to stay depressed during the bleed process?

I have one question about the ACD that I am not sure if it was discussed or not I may have missed it while scimming the pages. The ACD is activated while in full throttle for a short period of time and when staging your Evo at the track if running pro light your stage time is roughly .400 plus maybe 1 second for boost building. My concerne would be the first 60ft would the ACD activate and send power to the rear wheels after you had allready launched and what kind of failures to expect from the car if that so happens with an 750hp or more car?

Although I dont know much about the ACD computer strategy , I would think that for a 1/4 mile launch with that much horsepower you may want to lock the Center diff (rigged) to avoid the small slip when the ACD gets applied.

As for failures that you can expect , clutch pack disks running all that power will wear the steel clutches when they slip. Although I have disassembled many and have not found worn clutches

BTW great thread and very well written info .

its getting really cold here in ID, and i have noticed that when i start the car in the morning the ACD has the 3 solid lights

But when turn off the car and turn it back on , 3 solid lights are gone and am back on 'Tarmac' Mode

is it something i should be worried about ? or is it normal on a cold start?
