Evo Fq400

Does anyone own one of these things that is a participant of this website? I was just curious if anyone knew who actually does the modifications. I hear its a RallyArt Division in the UK, but is there more info available. Do these people sell other parts for EVO's, are the parts available for the US Spec cars? If anyone has any info on it let me know. Thanks............Happy Holidays.........Jeff

Jeff,

You'd be much better off having a company like AMS or Buschur modify your car. You'd save an enormous amount of money and you'd have a car that would perform just as well or better than the FQ400.

I believe that the FQ400 is almost $90k USD.

It's funny how similar my turbo kit looks compared to the Owen Developments kit...

Sure does. The AVO heatshield studs look a little thinner and longer and the collectors might put the turbo in a different spot.

As far is the mods, the FQ400 already has plenty of mods/upgrades: huge injectors, agressive ECU(MOTEC I think), lighter and better exhaust, much bigger turbo, etc, etc.

In other words , it will cost you high $$$ to make the FQ400 more efficient.

There was a Top Gear video with the FQ against a Lambo. To have it serviced every 5k miles would be tight on ones wallet/purse.

I saw that video, the Evo put the Lambo to shame on a track. However the FQ400 had terrible turbo lag, and the guys at Top Gear were laughing about it. Actually they put the FQ400 head to head against a Fiat Brava 1.6 100bhp in 4th gear at 40mph and the late just took off while the FQ was almost stalling. Pretty fun comparo.
400bhp is not impressive at all with the type of mods the car has: bigger turbo, injectors, advanced ECU...You can make even more power with just bolt-ons without any turbo lag, all for less that $3k. But hey, we're talking about the UK, which has the highest car prices on the planet: $90k for an Evo...jeeez!
