eids or grounding kit?

Recently my idle has become horrible. The car wont start cold unless I give it gas and warm I up. The idle is all over the place from 400 to 800 bouncing constantly. I tried changing my intake back to stock, that did not work. Then I changed all the plugs, that did not work. I have checked for leaks and there are none that I can find. So I am going to try something else to fix it. Would a EIDS fix it or would a grounding kit be a better idea. I am running a greddy type s single spring recirc. The only other mod on my car is a TBE. Any ideas on how to fix it. I have tried search and found other people with similar issues but no clear solution.

Thanks
Nick

Hey Nick, when you changed back to the stock box, did you disconnect the negative terminal on the battery for 10 minutes, then start the car without touching the gas? try that, as you have to re-set the ECU. This should fix it. your ecu adapted for the new intake, now it has to re=learn the "stock" box again. go try that.

Another thing, when I had a cone intake, my Mass airflow sensor messed up and was running super rich, and idled like crap. have to plug it in at a mitshu dealer and check the MUD? reading. I changed mine out and the problem was gone. I dont know how the cone did that, OR if it did, but my MAS screwed up somehow. good luck.

I disconnected the battery when I changed the plugs, So I am pretty sure it reset the ECU I will call the dealership and see if they can fix the MAF.

They shouldn't charge you to plug it in, and see if that is your problem. keep us posted. does it seem like you are running rich? gas smell in the car? black bumper? keep us posted.

I have the eids and it wont help at cold start i also have a grounding kit it dont work the idle is going to be all over the place till the car get to operating/temps. All you need to do is let the car warm up in the morring before you go anywhere, the car might seem like it wants to die on you but it wont so dont worry. Ive had this problem with my car for a long time im going to fix it by the end of next month i hope. Still to this day it hasnt hurt my car so you should be fine.

I ended up having to take the car to the dealership and it turned out that the throtle plate was dirty and needed to be cleaned, They cleaned the carbon off of it and then cleaned out the fuel system and the idle is as good as new.

Don't waste your $$ on the grounding kit. Save it towards a reflash
