RPS Carbon too grabby?
When Revving the car to 6500 RPM+ in 1st gear, clutch in it grabs alittle and moves car forward, is it normal.??
I got RPS carbon.Carbon.
I got RPS carbon.Carbon.
It sounds like the clutch is not fully disengaged, caused by either because of the clutch or misadjustment. Try adjusting the release/engagment point higher by adjusting the rod at the pedal assembly that goes into the master cylinder. If you continue to let it drag, you will sacrifice syncros in the trans.
There are countless reports and posts about high rpm lockout. High rpm lockout is basically the clutch not disengaging all the way at high rpm, which is basically what you are describing as well by the clutch dragging at high rpm. Adjust the pedal for higher engagement point and see if that fixes it. You may want to call RPS and see what they have to say also.
When pressure plate is disengaged there is only about .070 air gap (correct me if wrong actman) Sometimes the discs aren't flat and dont spin true inside that small gap. The friction surfaces rub/drag as a result. the higher the rpm the more rub/drag there will be. Discs can be flat when cold but warped when hot.
^yeah i think i also agree with what u are saying about the higher the rpm the more drag/rub there will be.
it may have to be adjusted.
btw how do u like the RPS so far.
I've got one and I love it.
