Ludikraut,
I followed your advice and removed the inner spring and started with setting the adjustment screw all the way out (soft) then slowly tighten it (hard) but rpm still drops really low like 600+ without stall with aircon off. And with only outer spring, i notice the blow-off sounds softer. Hence i decided to put back the inner spring as single spring was too soft, and last result was double spring and adjustment screw halfway between soft and hard but rpm still drops to like low of 700 with aircon switched off. will continue tightening it tomorrow. i am just worried that VTA won't work on my car as i have MAF.

i am currently boosting at 1.35bar (19.5psi)

Go_Lancer_Go: My recirculated type-RS is much quieter than the type-s I used to have. (btw, your avatar should say 1337, not l33t )

Lazzy: If you are using the type-RS and are not recirculating it back into the intake, then that is probably where your idle issues are coming from. Once you recirculate it, the single spring should be more than enough to hold up to 25 psi boost (mine does with no problems).

Ludikraut,
oh i thought your suggestion for single spring was for VTA. what will be the side effect if i used double spring and recirc? i haven't tried recirc but i have the kit; might give it a try tomorrow if i can resolve the low rpm issue.

lazzy, the double spring will probably be too hard and may end up causing compressor surge. Though I don't know how different an Evo VII is compared to my VIII...
