Yes, it is confirmed - you are completely off your rocker. 30psi in most cases? How about in no cases...

No, don't crush it unless you over 24-25psi on a regular basis, or unless you do a pressure test and the BOV opens early...

Is it only showing 21-22psi at 3500rpm, then at 5000rpm your car bucks violenty and loses power, then will resume after you let off the gas (fuel cut). Is your boost normal during one pull, then running crazy high the next pull (ball needs greasing)?

I don't want to explain how to tighten the wastegate actuator, because that is not a normal thing to do on the stock WGA. You should not be trying to do that with your stocker. I think you keep getting way ahead of yourself on your brand new car and should take a step back and chill out. Hell, you got an exhaust cutout FIRST (holy cow), and now you're talking about tightening the turnbuckle on your stock WGA (jayzus!).

lol k here we go.... you got it right on the second time...it holds 21/22 up to around 5k then it bucks and i lose power...then of course i let off the gas and then i get back on the gas for testing purpose's and it does it again..

2ndly...tighting the waste gate was advised by couple other people, when it was tapering...now its not tapering lol...the car is going nuts.... i got the cutout/test pipe because i live next to the top guy in broward county sherriff dept. so i have to keep my car quiet, i dont want to **** him off....and 2ndly my dad doesn't like modding cars...so if he doesn't hear or see something different he doesn't know im changing anything...he's all about warranty... i know i could have got something that looks stock like the rsr something...not the gt2... but i love the dieselish v8 turbo sound lol it sounds angry and beasty as hell

cheers

well i bought some grease, cleaned it and put it back together...when i try to run 21 pounds of boost around 5k i get a fuel cut. so i turned it down 1 click and it did it at 6k thats around 20-20.5 pounds. then i clicked it down one more to 19.5-20 and it doesn't buck now? what do you think could be causing this? i know they run rich, does anyone thing that could be the reason? im saving up for a tune and im hoping that might solve my problem?

thanks

Get a tune!!! Your ECU can't handle all the air coming through the MAF without being reprogrammed (flash) or fooled (fuel/air/etc mgmt system).

Fuel cut is natural when running more boost than stock without a flash. It's designed to do that and has been happening to people for 3 years. You get a frowny face for this and for the fact that you have a brand new IX with so many mods already, yet you live at home and hide your exhaust from your dad who thinks your Evo is still warranteeable - if you break something, then it will get ugly. That makes baby Jesus cry.

Mmmm, k. Earlier, you said you chose your exhaust cutout based on him not wanting you to mod the car, but if you live on your own and pay for your own car, then...

Sounds fishy to me...

Curious, has this problem with the Forge MBC been resolved by the manufacturer, or is the grease solution on the ball-bearing the only fix?

My continuing saga

FWIW - I swapped the Forge unit for Warrtalon's Hallman that he keeps for testing purposes. The Hallman was soooooooo much better in that the boost didn't waver up down up down like it did with the Forge

The boost still tapers a bit more than I would like, but it's possible that the IX turbo just naturally tapers more ...

I still think that a turn of the wastegate actuator might improve the situation slightly, but at this point, I'm sending back the Forge unit as it's clearly not performing properly. I did try 'greasing the ball' and my spring was seated correctly. Dunno if it's a manufacturing defect with this unit, or a bad spring or what ... all I know is that swapping it out for the Hallman with no other changes made my boost wavering problem go away ...

For me greasing the ball solved the problem completely. I'm quite happy now with my UNOS, boost goes up to 22 PSI (in 3rd and 4th gears) and stays there the whole time, if I see a drop in pressure is 0.3 PSI maximum.
