Weird problem with Forge MBC
I have a perfectly working unit with no spikes happening or anything wierd. My question is should everyone grease up the ball or go by if it ain't broke don't fix it? If Mike from Forge could answer it would be appreciated, TIA.
When I purchased my Forge MBC (brand new) it worked perfectly fine, 2 weeks later the spikes started to happen.
I'd say grease it only if you experience the spikes, if that happens you already know how to solve it.

I haven't installed mine yet. But I'm about to go to the store now and pick up some of this synthetic bearing grease. I figure it's better to get it before the problem occurs.
Warrtalon and I pressure tested the system yesterday and it held tight at 25psi, so that's not my issue.
I can only hold 17-18psi with the soft spring and the stiff spring causes my boost to fluctuate ... up down up down pretty wildly (actually the fluctuation happens with low boost soft spring too just not as dramatic).
We are down to two possibilities ... either something is wrong with my Forge MBC and/or the springs, or my stock wastegate actuator needs tightening. I'm now leaning towards the WGA (especially since I hold less boost with soft spring maxed out and less boost with stiff spring all the way - than everyone else).
Final troubleshooting will be to replace the MBC with a unit that is known to be working well as see if it still exhibits the same behavior. If so ... WGA here I come.

i just installed my forge unos and i cant hold boost....i checked for boost leaks and i have no idea what the problem is...with both springs it tapers... with the soft from 17ish to 15ish with the stiff from 21ish to 16ish...i keep reading about tighting something on the wastegate but i dont know what your talking about? can some1 explain it or possibly have a picture to what i need to tighten
thanks
thanks
I'd use the grease even if it's not the problem. Better to be safe than sorry. Think of the future. How many clicks did you turn the UNOS using the stiff spring to get 21 and droping to 16? Did you buy this MBC used?
i just tried my friends hallman pro and held 21 and dropped to 19.5/20ish...so now i know there are no leaks....i threw my forge back in there and when i accelerate hard when i get around 5-5500 the car pause's couple times then keep going...thats boost spike right?

i guess.....then its a fuel cut....i turn it down a couple clicks and still does it....im going to buy some grease tomorrow, try that, then well go from there....seems like that solved every1's problem....so be4 i waste every1's time ill do that thanks.. but can u explain what i need to tighten on the waste gate thanks

I don't want to explain how to tighten the wastegate actuator, because that is not a normal thing to do on the stock WGA. You should not be trying to do that with your stocker. I think you keep getting way ahead of yourself on your brand new car and should take a step back and chill out. Hell, you got an exhaust cutout FIRST (holy cow), and now you're talking about tightening the turnbuckle on your stock WGA (jayzus!).
