If you just want to toss them in and go, that's definitely not a bad idea. However, if you plan on getting cam gears and doing some tuning, consider that the 280s can be set to do it all, and more of it.

almost every shop and person i talk to keep saying do 264/272 best setup can be for car. so i dont know this is like hard to say just 3 cam size and so hard to say which one to go with.

If that were true, we'd see no power increase with the larger cam sets, and they wouldn't sell.

The simple fact is that which set is best depends entirely on the specific application, and should take into account the realistic goals of the user.

I see alot of people talking about 264/272 and 272/264...... But what about a 280/272 setup???

I personally have the 264/272 setup and wish I had went with straight 272s.

I read the posts on cams, and everyone has their own opinion, but it would be nice to see one car, same dyno, with mutiple combos.

In the long run whatever combo you choose makes little difference. There is a give and take for ea setup but the differences are small

ya but you can always have cam gears and take advange of it so why does it matter anyhow seems like all cams the same. with cam gears i think 264/272 good becasue get the fast spool which you want and then have the top end which is good. and can always have cam gear to make 264 like -2 or +4 and then the 272 like +1 or even i keep 0 so i dont know. need to get some people in here with some dyno reading of when changing things what happens to what. i know when i get cams i will go to the dyno and make a lot of changing things like with the cam gear but if somone already did it like mr. BR then would be cool if he post some dyno and comments on all them.
