This happens when the car is sitting still and the motor is not running................I can get it to act just by shifting 1-2 2-1 1-2 Lock.......lock lock lock lock-1 ECt.

That is what really has me confused. I am going to chek the linkage and then pull the trans tonight......

Do you have aftermarket under hood shifter bushings?

I have had the same prob. All it took was some lube on the larger underhood bushing.
(I forgot to lube mine when I installed it)

Hey Matt, I hope all is well!
Usually you can ignore how the car shifts when the engine if off. The trans acts differently when the engine is not running. In that case the syncros have no function at all. Since the parts are not spinning there is nothing to "sync" to the same speed. It is quite common to not be able to get into gear when the engine is off, clutch or not.

Hey Dirk,

Maybe I have never tried it before like that (not running). But after it acted up when driving I started to pay attention to it even more. After inspecting the linkage. I drained the fluid.........................MMMM lets just say there was a little to much in the way of metal attached to the drain plug for my liking. (It might have been a complete syncro)...............

4 hours later the trans in is the back of my truck. Tomorrow its off to Kalamazoo to drop off with Jon @ TRE. (I was heading to that side of the state anyway.)
