I just don't think it is fair to trash the revolver cams. There are many people running them without wishing they weren't.

when the shop istalled my revolvers it came out the door running very poorly. I wouldn't take it home and left it with them, this after they checked and double checked their install. The next evening I picked up the car and they had fixed it. I don't know what they did wrong or right.
The point is, mistakes can be made by the best shops, the 2nd point is, if the cams work on one Evo they will work on every Evo. These cars don't have that kind of personality.

If you don't like the idle, or your stock ecu won't run well then that is something else. But that is not the fault of the cams.

in my case the revolvers run well with
a White Rabbit, (that is the only mod infront of the cams.)

It would not surprise me to find something is amiss with the car itself... esp if the cams are from the same lot # as other's who are making power.

I hope you get this figured out real soon. It sucks to have unknown gremlins keeping your car down for any length of time!

The real test will be when they install HKS cams. If the car runs fine w/ them and the cam gears then it would be safe to say the problems were associated w/ the Revolver cams.

Probably... unless something that was done, is un-done. I know, I've confused myself before in a similar manner once.

However, I don't think this is a matter of install error. It would not surprise me to find another culprit.

More importantly, it would be interesting to see these cams on another car, just to see what happens (the first set pd1 had in).

It sounds like someone will get a chance at that, because I don't think Pd1 is going to try the revolvers any more. I also have a hard time believing it was the cams. That seems like a real long shot to me.

Do you mind calling the shop that installed them and finding out what the problem was. It would help the rest of us a bunch. Thanks

I just wanted to post some results of my car running Revolver cams, valvesprings and retainers. My car is running a GT3076R turbo with an AEM ems and HKS cam gears. The dyno charts are all on 91 octane with only about 2hrs of tuning done and only 22lbs of boost. The tune is only a base tune and I have not performed a cam sweep yet to find the optimal settings. My experience with Revolver has been nothing but great. They have helped me out with all the questions I had before purchasing their cams. They are one of the best companies out there I have dealt with today and their customer service was even greater. It saddens me to see the results you (PD1) are having and that you are quitting on Revolver cams. It sounds to me that Revolver has gone above and beyond the call of duty for customer service. Try to find any company out there today that has customer service like theirs, I guarentee you that it will be extremely difficult. Also i find it kinda weird that you have gotten two bad sets of cams, it sounds like more of a problem with your set up (i.e. engine components).
The first chart is from a Mustang dyno with the cams set at -2,-2. The second chart is from a Dynapack Dyno with the cam settings at -2,-4.

That's an impressive power curve, it just keeps going up. With that kind of power on a Mustang dyno, your car must pull like crazy. Did you install the cams yourself?

Yes installed the cams, valvesprings, retainers, and cam gears myself. Yes the vehicle pulls very well but I can't wait until my final 91 octane tune is complete along with my cam sweep. Hopefully within the next few weeks I will have new results. Also will have my race gas map complete and possiblly my meth/alky injection kit installed and tuned on 91. But no time right now so my car is on the back burner.

From reading the all the posts in this thread about these cams, it seems that they are very diifficult to tune.

My question to those that have them is:

1. What kind of engine management do you run (standalone or flash)?

2. What kind of turbo do you run?

I was seriously looking into getting these cams, but am hesitant now after reading about pd1's problems.

If I do get them, I'm confident that my would-be installer (more than likely TurboTrix since they are only 25 minutes away) can install them and tune them correspondingly.
