keep in mind that your personal car/tune/mods will change what you might need

good luck! let us know if you need any tuning help

Outstanding. Thanks for this. I will try the gears a few different ways and see what works best for my configuration.

Stay tuned (no pun intended). I'll be updating this thread over the next 24 hours with my progress and post up the dyno charts.

For larger turbo cars (GT30 and bigger) our our install/tuning wizard tells me that -4/-2 seems to offer the nicest blend of power and torque.

Thanks fatbastard!

Yeah, with all that airflow, I can see that. Especially since Smogrunner has problems with his 2.3 liter GT 35 set-up.

Okay -- I made it out to Colton, CA after sitting in traffic for 3 hours (grrr).

I'd first like to say that the guys at Tuning Technologies are great -- all very kind and open to questions concerning their tools and methods. They seem to be as detail-oriented as I am, and that's rare.

We did a baseline dyno run tonight, and guess what, it pulled the same numbers as the Precision Dyno Mustang! I saw the effect of 91 octane while doing the pulls...I had to retard the timing 1 degree from 4.5k on up, but that's all I did. Boost levels were untouched. Air/Fuel mixtures were untouched. It made 352hp and 312 lb/ft of torque. I'll have the chart to post tomorrow, along with the actual DynoJet data files from each pull. So, I'll stop short of claiming that Precision Dyno's unit read high numbers on my car, or that Tuning Technologies' unit reads low....I have no idea. All I know is that my numbers are nearly identical on both of these dynos.

So, now that the baseline is in place, we'll know exactly how much power these cams provide. Tomorrow will be the true test.

I can't wait.

Not true at all...... our cams work wonderfully with the stock MAF.

for best power we usually run -2/0 (intake/exh) on a smaller turbo (stock to GT30) and -4/-2 for larger than a GT30.

Best idle will be had by spreading them further but you lose power and response.

Are these the 262/264 cams that is advertised on the Revolver's website? I am looking to get cams soon and am wondering if these cams will be good for a dailey driver.

If that's the case, then why is it that you don't grind them so that that is the straight up timing? Hope this isn't a dumb question.

The cam install went perfectly until we attempted to thread the bolt that goes in the exhaust cam to hold the cam angle sensor...it won't begin to thread...doesn't even catch at all. So, if OGVW is reading this, call me right away. I've left a message with Revolver. I need to know if this is common, a defect, or just poor quality control that can be fixed with a tap. Tuning Technologies is going to have to pull the exhaust cam back out. We'll see if we can easily get it tapped so the bolt will thread.

Certainly not what I wanted to be reporting right now.
