I kinda deserve a "duh" on that one. I overlooked that fact, even though I specifically remember reading it. You're right in that I could very well be needing an HKS DLI2 with the boost I'm running, especially once I have the cams. My BR8ES are holding up, but we were seeing some break up on the dyno at higher boost. I have to admit I didn't know that a DLI2 like that would allow for running more efficiently even with stock range plugs. Is that the case? I have no experience with any aftermarket ignition, so this is good info to me.

I have found that the stock plugs work extemely well even at high boost pressures when coupled with the HKS DLI2.... We have also had good experience with the BR8EIX iridum plugs. They are similiar in design to the stock plugs but are only about $7 or $8 at Advance autoparts. I dont believe in downgrading to copper plugs over and Iridium. Thats just my stupid opinion on that, I guess.

My thoughts exactly ... I guess the redesigned cooling passages and pistons go a long way to combat knock .... add mivec and 20G-9 ...

They are running a stock intake cam with an HKS 264 exhaust?? How does MIVEC handle that combo??

And the Evo8WR converted to 9 parts....I take it then that its a TME internals with 9 compressor housing?? but not a BR 9 20G.....??

so confused.....

man matts car is a beast, i couldnt believe it would put down so good of tor numbers, so i would love to see it on topspeeds dyno tommoro if doug will let us. it was a thrill to see this thing raised up the front end while on the dyno, it was like in .2 tenths of a second it just wanted to leap off, the turbo spolls very fast on this thing. i am very impressed with these 9's.

Bro - the plugs on the IX are totally different than those on the 8

When we were tuning the IX stroker (also with the HKS twin fire) we had problems with the stock IX plugs

The evo 8 plugs dont work in the IX

the stock IX plugs are gapped to 22

War - your car is on alcohol which makes more demands on the spark - wehn you run staight race gas the car is leaner so it burns easier
