THe car seems to make great power but in the end this is another worthless 20G thread. How hard is it to get an apples to apples dyno on a car that isn't the Buschur RS or a stroker kit or a this dyno to that dyno. 1 car, 1 dyno, 1 day with no changes except the turbo.....

Can some1 test this turbo on a freakin 2.0L already! Cams or not, tuned or not. Tuned would of course be the best option. It's nice to hear about all the good news but it's all speculation for the majority of us. (2.0L folks) Just swap the turbo to a customers car (it's not that hard I did it in my damn driveway) for a few tests for a day and give him a cat-back for borrowing his car.

Wow Philly, we got it done faster than I even thought. Not too bad right? I hear so many horror stories about cars being dropped off at shops for extended periods of time and the customers being pissed off.

The car was tuned with an AEM EMS.

evonathan,

When you said "Less than 272 cams" I figured you had either stock or 264's. All I am saying is our Stage 4 is what I recommend having before putting any turbo upgrade on the car. Depending on what you are tuning the car with I may very well suggest changing to 280's before the turbo. The "Freaking" 2.3 won't help the top end power much if at all, so what you see on the dyno sheet up top is what you can expect with a 2 liter too.

Good news though, this weekend we will be tuning atleast one 20g-9 car, Trent's. Trent's car has our complete Stage 4, Race FMIC, 280's, stock head, stock shortblock, stock intake manifold, stock throttle body and STOCK computer. The car is getting a flash for both pump and race gas. I will for sure be posting these dyno sheets as soon as we print them.

Haha, some of you crack me up. Give away a free part, swap it onto a customers car etc., etc. It will come in time. I have an idea, why dont' you guys take up a collection to buy someone with the exact combination you want tested and have them come to the shop for the parts? Now that works for ME!! haha

We will be testing a stock 2 liter this weekend on Trent's car and a flash. It will not be a back to back test as his car is already put together waiting on a tune.

Bottom line is we have dyno'd so many EVO's you know what a car is going to make with a certain number of mods and boost. When you see numbers better than this with this turbo you know it is working.

I have seen only 1 or 2 EVO's ever make 300 whp on our dyno on the stock turbo and on pump gas. Actually I can only think of 1 and it made 302 or somewhere near that. 23 psi of boost, Stage 4, 280's, custom flash, 94 octane. Philly's car made 315 at only 20 psi of boost and no ignition timing, a good 10-15 degrees less than we had in the flashed car.

We will see this weekend. I wouldn't call this thread worthless as there are more people out there with built combinations than some of you know. Right now at the shop there are 5 stroker engines for EVO's either on pallets ready to ship or on the engine stand waiting to be finished, but they are all sold. That is just from the last week.

Hey man I'm not trying to give you a hard time but it is hard for me say hey that would be bangin for my car or dude you should a rock a 20g-9 cause it would give you awesome spool up and good power. The thing that I hold in reserve is that it make power, but how much?

I think it would make power on a non-cammed car, cams help but I wonder if a 20g-9 with a 10.5cm housing can catch up to a standard 03-04 turbo 272-cammed car, my theory is yes looking at the EvoIX dyno numbers but it is hard to say isn't it due to the MIVEC. But there is the problem it is a theory and unfortunatly all of your customers who get a 20g-9 do other mods.

My mods are 275awhp on a Dyno Dynamics (~310 on the jet) with only Flash, I/C, HKS MF, Espiler Cat-back, Perrin DP, Fuel Pump, and Boost controller. I'm only 25whp short of a 272cam and a full 3-inch exhaust car. Having driven a 272/280 car this weekend nothing is going on under 3000rpms which kinda of sucks, So someone like myself goes, can the 20g-9 get me to that magic 300awhp(~340 jet) on the DD? Is there 25 awhp in a slightly bigger exhaust housing, compressor wheel, and compressor housing?

Have you tested a WR and if you have, what is the margin between the 9 20G and the Rabbit?

We have a baseline, 262 hp. IMO i think this is one of the best upgrades you can do. Will post the dyno sheet the minute it comes off!

Before i bought my evo i had a 91 talon, buschur stage 3, block and head, 272 cams br 580 turbo, all the good ****, the car ran 10.75@134 on street tires, and i can say i drove the evo with the 20g on it, the car running rich as hell, hands down the evo is alot funner to drive on the street. I cant wait till Al tunes it. I think the car will go 11.20's all day with a street tire!
