Thanks With the second way you do not have to take the tail housing off either.

I guess it's not like pulling the TC on a DSM at all.. Instead there is like a rod that you can't really see that comes off the TC and you need topull that back. Something along those lines from what I heard. Never done it, so don't take my word on that, but if someone investigates this, there might be an even easier way to getting that muffa outta there. :-)

What's the best approach with the car on jackstands?

Can someone amplifly how much work is involved in dropping the subframe?

you dont have to drop the subframe simply raise the engine by the front motor mount and that should give you more than enough room to pull out the transfer case make sure not to raise the front mount to much as not to mess up the radiator with the turbo on the car

this is the quickest and easiest way i believe, the only thing putting it back in requires 2 people

The front motor mount I assume is the one that goes on the front of the tranny. Not the passenger side or drivers side mount right?
