VTA makes sense once you're running a bigger turbo without a wastegate... until then you're a ricer.

I have the turbosmart and im going to have to say it sucks. I have tried to adjust it and it does nothing for me. The sound is cool thas about it but my car hates it. Especially when i let off the gas on the highway or when im coming to stop or watever or if i barley tap the gas it wants to shutter.

It helps as long as you got some kind of engine management to back the problem with a MAF, I run the TurboXS RFL VTA with my AEM using Speed Density.. sounds bad *** and flutters even.. IMO far better than the HKS SSQ BOV..

Yeah, this wasnt done to keep in the car or anything, just messing around. I knew that there were problems, just not as bad as they were.

Once my EMS is in and tuned, I have the HKS that I am going to run vta. Im in it for the sound. This is my first turboed car, heck, my first fast car, not a ricer, just like the sound.

I would think VTA wouldn't matter with the MAF on that car because it's an NA car and isn't looking for air from the DV.

it has MAP....

It just depends on some Evos... Ive been VTA on all 3 Evos that ive owned and never had a problem.. bovs used was a greddy type s, tial and hks ssq.... Ive spoken to many people about this and im guessing its just luck of the draw.. either your car likes vta or it doesnt..

If you want to know what really sucks is a lightweight flywheel and a Heavy Duty OS Giken Twin Disk Clutch with a push type conversion and driving bumper to bumper traffic on I95 through the Cross Bronx for 2 hours
