Wow, VTA does suck

So my friend ordered a turbo kit for his S2000 and it came with the TurboXS RFL blow off valve. We were bored and put it on my car. I knew about the problems with not recirculating it, but had no idea about how bad it was. I know some people said how it wasn't that bad, but damn. The idle sucked, shifting sucked, and just speeding up than backing off the thottle, but staying in gear (don't know if there is a cool term for doing that) sucked. And it felt like it was going to die at every stop. I dont know how someone could live with that. So stock is back in.

Remember, this was just a bored, wanted to hear what it sounded like 2 hour thing, was never going to keep it on.

And it doesnt even sound cool, just a very large gust of air. Another friend has the hks ssqv, and it atleast makes that whistle, fluttery noise.

A little bit of adjusting would make it "liveable". However yes VTA sucks. If your looking for a "cool" sound later in life you can get the aps and have ZERO issues with it. ITs dual rec and vta mean your maf is happy and your ears ^,~

Yeah, we put it on my car just to see what it would sound like, I know there wont be any problems on the honda.

And that APS, my friend has that on his evo. Pretty cool bov, I had never heard about one like that until his.

In order to run the VTA properly, I would suggest at least running a standalone ECU, and removing the MAF, which is what I did. I have the HKS SSQ BOV on my EVO and it sure sounds real nice blowing off 25+ PSI at WOT....

If anyone is local I'd be willing to take them for a ride to hear all the nice sounds my EVO makes...

I think the RFL is one of the best sounding actually. The very large gush of air is also followed up by a whistle. The RFL sounds like a loud *** whiplash, atleast on my car it did.

?????????? If it doesn't have an MAF what does it have?

I would think VTA wouldn't matter with the MAF on that car because it's an NA car and isn't looking for air from the DV.
