If I modify my stock parts that are in my sig and do a retune I'm sure I'll hit 400 AWHP or more

-warrtalon: just curious.. are you saying that it is completely impossible to hit the 400s AWHP with the stockie and 93 pump.... no race gas, no meth or nitrous... just plain 93 pump...?

did you dyno with 17's or your 18's? I think the 17's would make more power - guessing...

I'll just 100oct then if it's about the same. Save myself from getting the alky kit.

I've been to alot of dyno's here in Colorado and I've never seen anyone on the stock turbo/91 oct. hit anywhere close to 390awhp/tq. MAC has recommended bigger injectors but I didn't go that route. I think they suggested the bigger injectors to manipulate timming if one is on SAFCII. Nick/MAC showed me another guys dyno (claiming to be the highest numbered EVO there with less mod then me) and it was somewhere around 380awhp/tq. I can tell you, I personally didn't believe it because they were claiming 91 oct. I believe 100 oct was used and high boost was in the factor but I'm sure MAC couldn't verify it, they just took whatever the guy said. Don't believe everything you see or hear out there guys, it's not all true, theres compensation somewhere for someone to be running with such high numbers on the roller.

First time I dyno'd I had my stock wheels on, second time, my Volks. My Volks are lighter though.

Yeah, if you can afford to pay $4.99/gal or whatever for a full tank of 100oct all the time, then you don't need an alky kit. Alky also provides a lower intake charge, which allows more aggressive timing than 100oct, but you can still crank 24-25psi on a daily basis with a more aggressive tune than on 93oct no problem. I just prefer to pay $12/gal of denatured alky once every two fillups rather than $4.99/gal = $60/fillup, not to mention 100oct isn't available around me, but I realize that it's sold at the pump near some people.

Yes, I say that 400awhp is not FEASIBLY possible on the stock 03-05 turbo with straight 93, but I'm sure someone could try everything possible and spend a lot of money to achieve it. It wouldn't be cost-effective or safe, but it could probably be done if someone really wanted to do it for one or two glory runs on the dyno...

Stock turbo on pump gas? NO!
Upgrade turbo on pump gas? YES!
Been there, done that. Period.

Beyond this, you need a turbo upgrade, and that's outside my experience.
Thank you for that start.
Is this on 93 or 91 oct? I seem to see that tuning at lower HP levels (about 300whp) on 91 gives up about 10-15hp vs. 93 oct. Does this correlation continue at higher HP levels? My first guess would be if you do not maintain VE because of higher heat levels (due to running close or out of efficiency range, build up of BP on hotside, not enough cooling at the intercooler, fussing with timing, etc) you're going to lose more and more on 91. Can you gain more headroom on 91 by starting to use fuel for cooling? (seems that's what those with monster injectors try on safc, but it becomes a fuel pig), or going to a larger intercooler?
Any input yet on the IX?

Everything I say is assuming 93oct, since I consider that pump gas. Places that only have 91oct just suck, sorry. I have never tuned on 91oct, so I can't tell you if the loss of power around 300whp is static or linearly increasing at higher power levels. I just don't know that you generally can't run as much boost or timing on 91 as you can on 93, and that's where a lot of the power comes from...

I have a good stage 1 for the IX, but I'll wait to list that when the actual package is released. It's no secret or anything, but I think I have a very good plan that is very inexpensive while providing quality parts with proven power and fitment.
