Roning, yeah, hopefully it will be to your satisfaction and liking with the HFC and Bullet muffler. That muffler is badass, so it would be a shame to have to use the Magnaflow, which really is inferior in all ways except noise levels.

I had the BR w/ magnaflow for awhile and found it substantially quieter than the bullet my friend had. It was a much better solution for me. Even thought it is a little "more restrictive", don't let that scare you off. The BR exhausts are a straight shot back and I've found every one we've dynoed to make great power when compared to other things, even with the magnaflow muffler in place.

For me, the bullet is way too loud for an Evo. But remember that I'm an old fart with a baby seat in the back that has a 5 month old little girl riding in it.

I'm going to give the bullet exhaust a shot ( ) and see how it is. As long as the decibels are reasonable on the highway I will be happy, I'm not looking for whisper quiet, just quiet enough to get through a trip without wanting a set of ear plugs.

Thanks for the input guys! Sorry for turning this thing into another exhaust thread.

Maybe you guys should update you webpage... this is directly from you webpage

"This is the same exact system as our other 3" Mandrel Bent EVO 8 catback (Part#: EVO-31700) but with the magnaflow muffler. There is no power loss between the two however this muffler is about 3lbs heavier. "

If there is a power difference between the two how much, say on a IX with a flash and the bullet compared to a flash and the magnaflow.

I don't know, was that referring to the old race muffler vs magnaflow, or was that talking about the Bullet vs magnaflow?

Website is updated. I tried to find the original testing sheet on the mufflers/cats etc. I am missing page one of my notes. Kind of ticks me off. There was a lot data on that sheet. Oh well....

Thank you for updating the webpage. Since you were unable to find your notes would you mind giving me a ball park figure. I am very interested in the Buschur Exhasut but the Bullet is just a little to loud for me. The magnaflow seems like a good option and I would not mind loosing a couple HP but if the difference is significant (10hp or so) then I will reconsider my purchase.

Thanks again

I remember the difference in power at a 300 whp level of being only 3-4 whp difference.

Honestly, if a guy wants a quiet car I always suggest running a cat. You may as well keep the car "legal" with the cat, the dealership will like you better, the cops will like you better, the car will be quiet and you can use the better Bullet Muffler.

I thought that the difference in power between a HFC and a test pipe was around 8-10 WHP. That is much more then the 3-4 WHP of the magnaflow compared to the bullet.

I guess this bring up a second question....

What is quieter a Bullet w/ a cat

or

A magnaflow w/o a cat

I will go with the magnaflow w/o cat. I've had mine for 2 years now and love it. Quiet under normal driving conditions but sounds mean during WOT. The magnaflow w/cat was a little too quiet for me.
