Wastegate Actuator question

Has anyone put a performance waste actuator in there evos? i was considering buying one but i would like to find out who has done them and if its worth doing? My current mods are TBE, intake w/ intercooler pipping, and mbc w/ dynoflash. Is it worth doing a actuator? Thanks

I have one and you wont be able to use boost controler to get 22PSI, it will overbost to 24+PSi, no boostcontroler will get you to 22PSI to redline. (gradual increase). So in conclusion, if no race gas or alky, its too much hassle to use it.

I'd highly recomend doing cams and I think everyone would agree here. Also if your turbo is 03-04 I would change the hotside to 10.5 (around $250). Will cost you about $1000 all together.

Goodluck

More power from mods = greater need to upgrade actuator.

I still have the stock one but it's adjusted tighter (I'm cheap) and holds just fine for now.

You don't even hardly have any mods yet. You have LOTS left to do to make more power before worrying about your WGA. You didn't know about cams? That's one of the biggest, baddest mods we can do. You just have a few basics, 2 of which aren't even necessary or very helpful. Here are my suggestions:

- BOV
- Fuel pump
- Cams (cam gears optional)
- LICP (sounds like you have an Injen intake w/UICP, neither of which were needed)
- Ported/coated 10.5 hotside
- Ported/coated stock exhaust manifold
- Coated tubular o2 housing
- Alcohol injection

After all that when running 26+psi on a daily basis with a custom dynoflash, you would be able to make use of the Forge WGA. FYI, I have all of this stuff except the LICP for now. I did a writeup on all those mods to include installation and review in case you're interested. The power results are in my sig (pre-cams).
