It's a Warrtalon Xmas in Colorado!

HUGE THANKS TO THE FOLLOWING GREAT GUYS:

Mike@Forge Motorsports
Greg@GSC Motorsports
Chris @ EVOtuners.net

Whoa, man, what a day of answering the doorbell. The Fedex and UPS men certainly did me right today. Here's what all showed up today - it was actually better than Xmas:

Some EVOtuners.net t-shirts for being named the 2006 EVOtuners.net sponsored driver. I'll be sure to wear one this weekend at the first SCCA auto-x of the season:

The NEW Forge Brake Duct Cooling Kit (BDCK), which will be installed in the next 2 weeks in time for my first NASA-RM track event at PMI:

Close-up of the Forge name:

And last, but not least, 2 sets of cams from GSC - 272s and 264s:

The cams will be installed Friday night, March 3rd along with some ARP head studs at 9-Second Racing in Denver, then that will be followed by a nice custom road tune by Al directly after. I will then make use of these cams and the BDCK at PMI on the 11th/12th as part of HPDE2.

For me to choose what combo I want out of the 4 possible combinations. Ideally, I'd install, tune, and dyno all 4 combos, but I don't have the resources lined up to do all that. I will be sending the 2 unused ones back to Greg. I'll probably be using the 272i/264e for road racing purposes.

Wow, all that fancy hardware and driving in HPDE2? You might want to get used to the car and learn to drive it the way it is first.

I'm in HPDE2 specifically to learn more after graduating from HPDE1. The only fancy hardware is the BDCK. It's not THAT big of a deal. The cams are for making more power and smacking down some 11s at altitude.

not everyone always runs with the same clubs, and classing systems. When you swap and mix to get the events you want, you have to deal with places doubting your ability/experience.

Doubting your ability? What are you talking about? They ask for a list of all events you've attended and with which groups which is a good way to gauge someones experience.

I thought the shirts were going to say wartallon for a second there and I almost puked in my mouth jk

If you aren't testing them all why didn't you decide which set you would use before making the purchase? Seems pretty silly

Have fun racing

yes, depending on the group. I've had places that didn't care how many times you'd run, the first time out, you were gonna take a check ride, regardless.

Other places will put you in the middle groups with 0 track experience.

Just depends on how well the events are run. I've been placed in the experienced when i had little, and have more times than not, been put in the n00b, and then was asked to move up.

Again, all up to the organizers.

Regardless, not the reason for this guy's thread, if you're new to a track, they'll stick you in 1 regardless.
