Question Aftermarket BOV's

This summer i am planning on buying some new aftermarket parts. Once I am done with those mods, I will be running around 375 whp. I was also thinkin about buying a new bov, but i'm not sure which one to buy. Should i stick with the stock bov, or go aftermarket? if aftermarket, then which one?

First, let me make sure you'll really be around 375whp. To do that, I'm assuming you're getting:

- TBE
- MBC
- Cams
- LICP
- Alky
- Tune

If so, then you'll be running 26+psi, so you'll need a strong BOV. The stocker only holds 13psi before leaking. I suggest the Forge RS DV

I like the HKS bov alot, I always had trouble adjusting other BOV's correctly such that they werent venting under boost - I never had that problem with the HKS, perhaps because it is a pull mechanism.

JDM MR DV is great, but not above 24-25psi, so keep that in mind.

Forge RS hands down.... Best one for the money. Holds the boost period. Easily adjusted if you require at the track. If you need one, send me a PM.

if i remember correctly i heard that the APS holds up to about 26psi. If you are all about the bells and whistles then get the APS Bov, if not then get the Forge RS D/V, its the best Bov for the money hands down...

I think your better off without an aftermarket bov, unless you just want the novelty sound. Other than that it really isn't good for much, and you can run into vacuum leak issues.

Are you serious?? The stock is a plastic good for nothing POS. I think what you want to say is get a aftermarket BOV that recirculates insted of vent to atmosphere so you don't have to worry about MAF issues.. You'll need it to run 375hp because to run 375hp you'll need to run 26psi or more.

This is either a joke, or you're differentiating between DVs and BOVs without telling him the obvious, which is that he DOES need something to replace his POS stock, plastic BOV, such as the Forge RS DV that several of us have mentioned...

Can't it be modified to hold more boost? I remember with my sti the stock bpv would leak at 19-20psi so I had it modified and it would hold 25psi all day. When I run enough boost on my IX I'll mod the stock valve as well.
