Not sure I understand you point. I'm not sure that France is a pluralistic society. They really don't accept other cultures or languages. Every one is French, just French, the national language is French. They seem to think that by saying everyone is the same that everyone will be treated the same. In real life though they still look at a muslim youth and see a muslim youth, not a French man.

I am an ardent supporter of legal immigration and I favor penalizing not only illegal immigrants but those that employ them. The thing about Mexican immigrants (as well as other hispanic/latins) is that they do share our basic values and when assimilated make a great contribution to the country.

F-

This thread is an embarrassment. I spend quite a bit of time in China and Asia unlike people posting in this thread. Hong Kong IS China and makes NY. or LA. look like a f*cking pre-historic ant hill. Last trip to mainland China (two weeks ago) I was picked up and driven to work every day in a brand new shiny Buick and drank beers at night with a bunch of Germans working for Dailmer Chrysler. To think that you could even identify, nevermind "boycott" Chinese goods is an indicator of your complete ignorance as most Japanese (and all other countries brands) manufacture in China as well.

I also spend a lot of time in China. I agree that it is impossible to boycott Chinese goods. However, to say that Hong Kong "is China" and to say that it makes NY or LA look like a "pre-historic ant hill" is just not true. Hong Kong and most of the large cities in China are not in the same league as NY and LA as far as quality of life, etc. Also, have you been to the rural areas of China? If so, do those areas remind you of Hong Kong? I don't think so. Also, I don't understand the significance of drinking beers with a couple of Germans and driving in a Buick.

I am sorry to correct my good friend from China but your definition of embarrasment is incorrect! I do not believe that embarrassment is defined by a great American, who served his country, who started his own buisness, that provides parts and services, for people like you, and provides jobs for Americans who want to work here in this country and live the American dream!

Embarrassment, however, can be defined as some one who speaks to Americans in a way that makes me fell bad to be an American! Dave has the ability to speak his mined...is that not what these forms are all about! But then again so do you becasue you live in this great country called America that grants you that right!

Dave,

Thanks for being the pioneer that takes risks for us and passes those risks down to us in the way of products and services that enhance our quality of life!

Sigh, I am an American... Cuacaisian as well, not that it matters, but you have made enough incorrect assumptions so I might as well clear it up for you... I travel alot...

Ever heard "don't hate the player, hate the game"? Sooner or later we WILL be a global economy. If you fight it or stay in denial you go the way of the dinosour. If you sell innovation and design, you have a shot with the best. If you try to make money on manufacturing, above a sertain volume level the nations with favorable trade relations, lower paid skilled labor and cheaper materials will win. The exceptions being low volume.

I like Mr Bushur (never met him but I might need his parts one day), I guess I didn't think of it in terms as directed at him even , sorry just MHO. My post was more directed at the many herd mentality "blame China" type posts from people that have clearly never left the country.

I'd be embarrassed if other people from outside the US. read this thread and thought we were all a bunch of d*cks.

I agree Asian citys have thier own particular flavor of decay, but you have to admit the HK skyline is pretty impressive, on par if not more impressive than NY or LA. Ever take the ferry in at night, or the helicopter?

Absolutely, the huge gap between super rich and the super poor is so obvious, concentrated on one island.

My intent was not to say China was as civilzed as the HK, merely to point out to those saying "China" vaugely should consider that HK and Taiwan are both the ROC and very well developed , as are many Chinese cities. Definately not the US, but still impressive.

I was trying to reinforce the idea that every one make thier crap thier (Dialmer)

They sell a lot of Buicks there as well ironically- I don't know what that has to do with anything, but weird huh?

Couple of things.

I don't want to turn this into a racial topic, wasn't my point and I honestly do not consider myself a racist by any means. I let an occassional customer stay at my house if they are in town IF I have grown to like them, not just any stranger I don't know. You have to admit that there are a lot less black men driving DSM's and EVO's than white guys. To my point, quickly, there are black guys staying here as often as white guys. If this was a racial thing with me and the language and such, I surely wouldn't be opening my house to anyone with skin not as white as mine. Also, so you know, I wouldn't suggest anyone needed to go back to Africa or anywhere else UNLESS they acted in such a way that it was justified. At that point it could be freaking Iceland as much as anywhere else. It comes down to "If you don't like it here and think it sucks and you are being treated poorly, LEAVE!"

I also don't feel boycotting China was my point. Hell I am selling the Ebay 02 housings, they work, look quality and there is no way in hell I have the time to try to make a part that nice for anywhere near that money. We make a housing similar for the DSM's that honestly is a better quality piece than the China built EVO part, I sell it for $275. It is a nicer/better part but it also costs me quite a bit more to manufacture than the $90 you can buy an EVO housing for off of Ebay.

Interesting point. My brother and I went to a Carry and Conceal class Sunday. This is where you go to get a permit to carry a concealed handgun. We live in a town of 900-1000 people, mostly (99%) white, I do business here as this is where I was raised, I like this town. I like knowing people etc. Anyway, before class I am sitting at breakfast. I know most of the people by face atleast, that eat at the small local restaraunt. I see 4 guys come in, Latin looking and then 2 more. Obviously, right or wrong, "out of place". I thought to myself, I bet they are here for this class.

Sure enough these 6 guys end up at the class. 2 of them regardless of how they looked to me were as "english" as I was. I won't get into all of it. 2 of them had already taken the class and spent the class sitting off to the side speaking Spanish loudly and disrupting the rest of us, they should have been asked to leave. The other two, one of which spoke NO freaking English from what I could tell, made it through the class. How the hell this is possible is beyond me. First off the class is a joke, no test, just sit there, shoot a few rounds at the end, criminal back ground check and you are legal. It does require you to be a US Citizen and resident of Ohio for 45 days. How did this guy pass that test? His buddy would interpret for him every once in awhile so he could follow along. To me, it was very bothering. You'd be surprised to see who takes these classes. I think there were 12 of us in it. Let me just say with this new law you have no idea who might have a gun on them. Some of the guys I'd never have guessed they'd carry.

Only Americans are so aragant as to get pissed off to press one button to decide which language to read or listen to. The language is called English not American we don't own. America is an amalgamation of other cultures that we are supposed to be accept freely without persecution. All to often the same person that wants every Mexican to completely assimilate language and all, is later telling me to take my African American a$$ back to africa. And you know what 4 out of 5 times my family has been here much longer.

Forget blaming it all on illegal aliens. If they couldn't get hired here, they wouldn't come for jobs. If they don't pay taxes, its cus their employer doesn't take them out. I don't know about you but my net pay is minus taxes and SS ect ect, taxes get taken out of my check cus my employer does it.
Couldn't agree with you more.
