ticking noise once in a while

well i hear this ticking noise one in a while in my engine bay. i'm not sure if it's my timing belt or whatever but friends told me it might be my lifters. if i rev it, it gets faster but once i drive it, it disappears. it really worries me. any inputs or, any of you guys experience this problem on 43000 milage 03

It's normal. I wouldn't be too worried.

All evo's usually have a little bit of a tick noise, nothing to be worried about.

If it stops when you push the clutch in while idleing, it's probably your throw out bearing, I know about 3 to 4 Evos with it just here in Salt Lake, no problems, just an annoying noise.

I think it's coming from the valvetrain. Mine is more apparent right after an oil change but disappears soon after.
