Try taking your foot off the gas in between shifts. This is also a sign of a slipping clutch.

my dads 05 sti REALLY does it, well they dont rise but when you shift the rpms dont fall at all, its like you're still holding throttle only you're not, its sorta annoying cuz you cant shift as fast as you want

is that what you're talking about?

I suggest you call Al and ask him if he knows. Their is what is called a "rev limiter" programmed into the ECU. It might be a higher than normal rev limiter since your ECU is flashed, but it should limit your rpms to stay under 7800 RPMS.

nah, ill shift with 3/4 throttle and the rpms will shoot up about 600 sometimes...foot is completey off the gas..dunno waht it is? Al said it was normal in some EVOS, but other people have dynoflashes and do not experience this so i dunno

search guys......... this is a factory 'feature' on all 05-06's........ It basically keeps the throttle body open after u let ur foot off of the gas... You will notice that sometimes the car slows down when you decell, and sometimes it maintains speed (and AFR)..... you will see the rpm's maintaing themselfs at like 5k with your foot off of the throttle, and the clutch PUSHED IN! , this is due to the clutch switch being disabled (launch control).

This whole 'feature' is designed to lower emissions.
