Walbro pump failure?

My Walbro started getting REALLY loud after my injector install yesterday. On the dyno today, I barely had to pull out any fuel to get the desired A:F ratios.

Anyway, its getting louder and my car took quite awhile to start this evening after being at a restaurant.

Have any of you had a Walbro fail? What were the symptoms?

Thanks in advance!

My pump is freaking out too. It's not getting louder, it's just running in max flow at lower than normal loads.

I ran 30K miles on 110 Leaded fuel, maybe mine is clogging up, and time for a new one. My AFR readings are goofy! AEM UEGO gague tells me so.

I wonder if denso makes a 255lph pump. Better quality I bet.

I think the walbro is sensitive to some agents -

I just need to know if this is a common way for one of these to go out. Its given me great service for 2 and a half years, but I think its dying. When voltage changes in the car (fan kicks on etc), the pitch of the whine the pump makes changes. This especially makes me think its time to change to be safe.

that was my point in a thread I made entitled "Saftey precautions for my mods.."

A friend hears about so many of these going out on people but 2yrs is great! Just get another one...but Would it be more noticed if it was going out w/ a Fuel Pressure gauge or the UEGO gauge?

My Buddy is Trying to get me not to get one...but I personally see ALOT of people w/ these pumps.

SMART is your friend!

Get the new SMART upgrade, then you won't have to worry about it. Oh, no, I'm wrong, that's just smoke and mirrors...

I read somewhere that if the engine goes to lean all of a sudden then it just misfires and stops making power, but it won't blow. So maybe you just don't have to worry about it.

Misinformation is stupid.

Seriously, get the SMART upgrade, that's what it was made for... (I'm sure you know that already though).

I aready have SMART, and my fueling on the dyno is fine.
It just doesn't start well and started making a ton of noise.

Joe, Andrew is 3 feet from me with cootAr and Water Wetter.

The denso is actually very good, it is the one off the Toyota Supra. It is a lil better than the Walbro flows a lil more

smoked, widebands don't like leaded fuel, it fouls them out and they read funny Time to replace your sensor.

Noize, I don't have any good advice.... my walbro makes very little noise since day one (5 months ago), but I always have the radio on also. I do carry the stock fuel pump in the trunk just in case though.
