are my cams causing these codes to be thrown???
are my cams causing these codes to be thrown???
Installed cams last week and car was running great and still is. Whenever I come to a stop and the car is idling it throws a PO340 & PO335 code.
Could this be because of the lopey idle the 280's and no tune are causing?
Im kinda in a panic cause Im supposed to be getting a tune tomorrow and I dont want to show up w/ codes being thrown
any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance

the codes are (po335)crankshaft postion sensor and (po340)cam postion, did you have the cams installed by a shop or did you do them yourself? You definitley need to have the car tuned for the cams, your engines volumetric efficency is drastically different now from the longer duration cams. Get the car tuned.

Im scheduled for a tune tomorrow and Ive checked the timing and CAS multiple times so I know for a fact those arent the problem
I just dont want to show up for my tune tomorrow and be throwing codes and Al refuse to tune my car, that would be sh*tty
I guess all I really want to know is what are all the possibilities/causes for these codes to be thrown

Maybe someone else can give some feedback, but I definitley think it has to do with running those cams untuned. Try to reset your ECU by removing your neg battery cable for a few minutes, to see if it continues to come back. Man you are running crazy duration cams on a untuned computer, I would be more suprised to not see the ecu throwing codes. I think it related to the cams ingeneral not a mistake during the install. If all of the markings are lining up and the car runs fine other than a rough bumpy idle I would not be sweating it. I am suprised your car will idle untuned with 280 cams, suprising. Dude show up with or without your codes, and explain everything to the dynoflash guy, Im sure this isnt the first time he has seen this happen. Changing cams has a big impact on the engine, it isnt like you just put on a k&n airfilter or something. Your flowing alot more air into and out of the combustion camber with the 280 degree duration cams. Take the car to get TUNED.
Just show up for the tune and reset the battery before AL see's your car. Then if the codes come back, it was the install that was bad. Possibly a ruined sensor or it was misplaced wrong. Maybe a skipped tooth while reinstalling cams.
