Boost after Dynoflash

I have tried the search button....nothin...if i have a mail-in dynoflash on my car and a drop in k&n, nothin else, is it worth getting a MBC or did the reflash take it to it's "safe" max boost? Just curious if it would be worth investing in a MBC.

An $85 MBC is worth it, because it allows you to raise boost and then have full control of boost whenever you need it. However, if you don't even have an exhaust, BOV, or fuel pump, then I wouldn't worry about it for now.

the dynoflash didnt change your boost at all. Yes the MBC is worth it, i and many others would advise a walbro fuel pump when you raise the boost.

Now if i decided to get one, what would be the best way to monitor boost...analog guage or an electronic boost controller? Sorry if these questions sound dumb...im still learning about the options with a boosted vehicle.

You're confusing a boost gauge with a boost controller. If you get an MBC, you wouldn't buy an EBC just to monitor boost - that wouldn't make sense. You either get a boost gauge with your MBC or get an EBC and use it as your boost gauge and boost controller.

Btw, TPayne wasn't quite right. The flash DOES alter your boost profiles. It removes almost all of the stock taper, and it put is right around 20-21psi peak, so it's much better than stock. It just doesn't raise it as high as you would with an mbc.

i got a mbc and custom dynoflash and my max boost is 20.5lbs. That's as high as Al wanted to go.

So taking the boost higher would be unsafe? So Al set it to 20.5lbs or is that what you boosted it to with the mbc?

That is not true

Our current version "V4" ecu based boost control has a significant effect on boost and the car will hold a nice 20 psi in 4th gear tapering slightly to red line evo 8

IX hits 20 also and tapers more due to MIVEC effects

V4 boost control is free of charge with all Dyno Flash tunes

Good to know

DarkEvo,
The amount of boost you run will depend on the octane gas your running. He set the boost with MBC.
