UPDATE: Worked on it some more. Got the Intake almost figured out. Needs a little more work, but i got it hung. The LICP was a pain. I barely had enough stainless to get it. Instead of welding the 3 segments, i hose clamped them. I kinda like a little flex. Yes, i know, i will be changing the orientation of the clamps next weekend. Then for the test drive. Holy Jeebus, 35psi........pull over and back off the halman. After a few more stops, i got it dialed at 20 for now. Holds like a rock. Damn, when the tial dumps, ITS LOUD!!!! Sounds like a Harley or somthing. You know, ime spooling in the mid to high 4's. Freaking nice. I MEAN REAL NICE!!! In the turns in third, i just hit the pedal and i got boost. Almost scarry. Have to hold on with 2 hands cause of the torque steer. Whan i stopped after the first datalog, i thought the car was on fire. See the picture. I guess the header tape caught a little oil and it was burning off. Radiant heat from the manifold is unacceptable. I didnt coat it. I will be wraping it. I can see the samco blistering in short order. Ime beat. A lot of work. Ime now ready for alot of satisfaction, and if my pretune pulls are this good, holy crap, wait till ime tuned......Ray

great to hear the car is running well. a couple notes i would like to make

1) For some reason i thought it was one of our turbo kits? It looks like our manifold, downpipe turbo and dumptube only? definately not our IC, charge pipes or BOV

2) i realize you just bought that pwr radiator and probably dont want to change it, however if you move the upper radiator tube towards the driver's side(like an evo 6) you get a ton of clearance for the upper rad hose, as it is nowhere near the manifold

3) wrapping the manifold is very bad for it, but our manifolds can take it. Most fabricated tubular manifolds will crack if they are wrapped

4) heat wrap always smokes the first time you use it, whether or not it has oil on it

have fun and dont hurt the motor !!

Its all yours except for The BOV is a GFB. Best ive used if kept clean. Precision turbo intercooler. I made the LICP and intake pipe. 16g 304 stainless. (too thick). Yes, i need to figure out how to move the rad. neck. If you have any ideas, ime listning, Thats an excellent idea. If you dont suggest to wrap it, i wont. What about a coating?? That heat wrap had me going. I thought i lost the engine. The engine is fine. I have all knock voltage below 2v. I had to tune out a few spikes. I want to change the stainless nuts holding on the downpipe to those crimped nuts. Need to source them. Then add the engine fan and ime set. Just a few dodads.......When i get a day off, Geoff, ill call to see if you want me to come up. Is your shop able to do the Rad. mod??? Ray

coatings work extremely well. We generally sell HPC simply becuase they are in town, but there are better coatings if you really want to dig... There is an outfit in oregon (their name escapes me at the moment) who had some exceptional coatings for turbine housings and turbo exh manifolds...

regarding the water neck, i am on the east coast right now for the SEMA/IAS show, however if you want to bring the rad up to our shop in Phoenix, i could easily have one of my fabricators take care of it for you.

Very nice.

As for the upper rad hose, you may be able to cut off a small portion of the hose that connects to the rad. If done right, when installed the rad hose will "pull" away from the manifold for some extra clearance. This should work if it's getting too close around the 90 bend.

thanks man, we had a good time, but it would have been more fun if we didnt lose the car

it turned otu to be a torn IC coupler that tore in the 3rd run. the tear cuased us to have no boost, we were down from 470whp to about 130whp

we redeem ourselves in a later episode, however. i drove a red crx against a 9 sec VW beetle that did wheelies... that episode i think is going to be an hour long season finale, but not 100% sure

thanks for the credit sir!

You are very welcome & again, I give you huge props for going on the show. It was very entertaining & I give you & team a lot of credit for doing something like this. I believe this was the first Import Tuner shop to participate, so again way to go!

It make sense about the IC coupler, as the car did look like it was going a lot slower at the end.

Also, I have to give you huge for not making excuses and just running with what you brought.....

I really like the last line at the end of the show, when I believe his name was David from your camp said, "He can have the car, as he's just going to call us for parts anyways....."

Again, great job!

I have installed a bunch of Full-race turbo kits, all fit perfectly and every one has made great power. I will continue to use the full-race product as I haven't found a nicer fitting kit that makes as much or equal power.
