ACD Overfill ?

A friend of mine who owns an evo is having a strange noise when he accelerates, when I checked out his ACD reservoir which is in the trunk it was way too high, higher than max !!!!

Is this the problem ? does the ACD make some brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr sounds ?

Note: ACD was flushed last week and refilled.

how did he get the acd reservoir in the trunk? Did he relocate it all the way back there? If so, for what purpose?

I have an 05....my acd pump is in the engine compartment. The windshield fluid is in the trunk. I can take a pic to prove it.....although I dont see why that would be necessary. What ACD reservoir are we talking about? There is nothing in my trunk for the ACD or am I missing something? My trunk is stripped of all but the side liners right now.

Clearly it is not. The empty side compartment is the LH. The one with the reservoir is the RH side and clearly shows the windshield washer fluid. Please explain.

the acd res. is on the drivers side where the intercooler spray res. used to be.was it low and he filled it up because after driving the acd fluid will be low, down to the low mark on the res. after it sits it comes back up to full, this is normal. maybe he noticed it was low after driving the car and filled it up and then after sitting it came back up like its supposed to

^^thats what I am saying....the ACD res and pump is under the hood...not the trunk. Maybe JDM models are different?

AYC or ACD? I think that this might be the clarification.

The Evo 8 is an RS (JDM) so ACD Res is in the trunk

Actually he told me some mechanic just filled it for him and beyond the Max line. so could the overfilling be the problem ?

the trunk reservoir is AYC topup..
depending on how much you use the ayc.. the fluid will fluctuate up and down.. you should never need to top up unless its leaking..
