4g64 2.1L Build Up

All the parts to start my 4g64 short block finally arrived so I started strip down my junk yard special. I was very pleased to see that the motor I got had very low mileage. There was barely any wear on any of the parts and the oil pump looked brand new. Here is the parts list of what will be going into this block:

SBR Wiseso 9:0 Compression Pistons
SBR Manly Rods
New 4g63 Mitsubishi Crank
Full set of Cometic Gaskets
JAM Balance Shaft Removal Kit
ARP Head Studs
ARP Main Studs
ARP Rod Bolts
P.E. Cam Timing Belt

Here is the work I did on Sunday:

nice! How much for the short block from the salvage yard? Do you plan on machining for oil squirters?

I got a great deal for 200 bucks

No oil squirters for now. I want to get this into my car ASAP so I can sell the 4g63 so I can order some head parts

Ok finally took the afternoon off work today to drop the motor off at the machine shop. They will be cleaning up the block, boring/honing (.20 over) the cylinders, and balancing the crank. All this for a grand total of .... 60 dollars. I should be able to pick up the block on Thursday and start putting everything togther this weekend.

You can safetly rev this motor higher than a 4g63 and have the added displacement. I was going to just build up my 2.0 but for a few 100 more I decided to go with a 2.1.
