Angry Getting locked out from 1st to 2nd gear

Ok, Everytime i try to shift from 1st to 2nd past 7k, it grinds and it locks me out. I have had this problem also on my 03. I have seen ppl shift at 8k from 1st to 2nd w/o any problems and others with the same issue as i have.I can shift from 1st to 2nd but i have to let the rpms drop and then put it in and this slows me down. What can i do? Any suggestions? Thanks

Pretty much have to wait until the synchros can match up to speed with your shifting. Also, there's no reason to shift over 7k unless your cammed either.

Are you still on the stock clutch? A lot of these lockout issues stem from aftermarket clutches not adjusted correctly... But hell, I'm 100% stock and I still get locked out or grind from 1-2 every once in a while.

I also started getting locked out when going from 1st to 2nd at high rpms (when I first bought the car, it was fine).. but I learned later that it was because of my stock clutch losing grip. After I changed my clutch to an ACT, I don't have that problem anymore. I would expect that once my new clutch starts to get worn and needs replacing, I'll get locked out again.

My advice: you need a new clutch.

Replace the front motor mount with the buschur one. It should solve your problem

Do the clutch rod first, then go test it.

For some reason, it doesnt happen to me anymore, i can shift past 7k real fast that before i couldnt do it.. I had to let the revs drop then put it in, now i shift with no problem...I guess it just took me a while to get it
