Evo randomly shutting off while driving

Well it happened for the 2nd time in the past week and half.. Iam just driving and my car just shuts off. And to top it off my S.E.S. light came on today.. Idk if somehow the SS and Blitz TT i just got made the SES came on.. But i just got those things installed last night, so it couldnt be the cause of it randomly shutting off.
Has anyone heard of the evo randomly shutting off? Kinda freaked me out the very first time, especially since i was on a slight turn, and you know when the car shuts off the wheel gets super tight; and i was just like WTF? and looked down and all the lights for SES, battery, gas, etc were on.
Iam gonna go into Autozone tomorrow and find out what code my car is throwing, and then go from there i guess.

I tried searching, but everytime i searched i got an error.. So sorry if this has been covered somewhere before.

getting the codes pulled is def. step #1....work from there.

Id say if you just did an install last night...and your having problems today...it def had something to do with the install. Dowble check EVERYTHING...maybe youll stumble up on something

After I did my cams and full stage 4 on my 2003 Evo with jdm BPV ,it would do that only when making a quick turn.. I think it has to do with the power steering pump sucking the rest of the vacume?

But I dont know and Im probably wrong....others will chime in....

Ya like i said if all this only started happening RIGHT after my install of the TT and SS then i would maybe point fingers at it.. But considering my car did the shut off thing a week ago, before all the new stuff was installed, it is obviously not the new stuff i installed.. But i dont understand why the SES light came on either...

I dont have a aftermarket bov either... Stock IX (JDM MR DV) bov..
My mods are the following:
JIC Catback, Perrin DP and TP (With o2 sim installed), Blitz Dropin, Hallman MBC, Tune, and now B&M Short shifter, and Blitz DTT DC4 (turbo timer).

Mine dose that at low turning speeds. An example would be when I'm parking and turning the wheel hard over. I'm assuming because of the new loping cams (causing minor idle fluctuations) the power steering pump sucks the remaining idle down and shuts the car off. This is a guess a best.

I just simply add a little gas before a short turn.

I had a problem with my car shutting off randomly. It turned out the negative battery terminal was a bit loose. Check your battery connections just to be safe

i had this happen before almost exactly what you are describing... the idle air controller was to blame for me. they arent exactly cheap but if it turns out that is the case... the fix is quick and permanent.

Check to make sure that your MAF cable is plugged in all the way. I had mine 99% of the way plugged in, and the car started to occasionally stall out as the connector wiggled loose. No MAF signal = stall.
