Evo X shuts off!! WTF!!??

I have a '08 GSR and it keeps dying on me at the most random times!!! Usually happens when I'm slowing down and coming to a stop. The car just seizes up and shuts off with the battery light on. At times, I won't even know that it shut off untill my steering wheel feels like it has NO POWER STEERING!! When it starts to feel tough to turn it, I know it shut off again! Anyone know what the hell is going in???? I've brought it to dealer and because they could they couldn't replicate the issue, they couldn't tell me or advise me on a solution. SO... good news is that I still have warranty!! Just under 30k miles on the clock right now. Bad news:: I don't know what the problem is I'd hate to see the cost to fix this when my warranty goes out! Can anyone help????

Mods: Please excuse me if this post is in the wrong place. Please forward to correct location if needed. Thanks

I was told that there was something simple at Autozone that I can use to clean it. I'm going to look into it and I've also set myself up at Mitsubishi for tomorrow to get it looked at.

This may sound dumb, but check to see if the battery cables are connected correctly (tightened).

Had the same problem, car would shut off at weird times, this was due to the dealer not tightening the positive lead to the battery when I got the panasonic replaced with the red top optima. The cable was just sitting on top of the post and when I would turn or accelerate the cable would not touch the battery, so my car would die.

Take it to the dealer 3 times and document every time. If they can not fix it you can lemon law the car and get a new one. You have a serious safety issue that needs to be fixed.

since dealers can't replicate the problem, the vehicle is absolutely problem-free on its book. Therefore the lemon law will not apply.

I recommend taking it to the dealer again.

my bad I’m new to forums. Won’t happen again, I’ve just been having similar issues and I was hoping I could get their resolution.

Try something simple, replace your fuel relays and see if the problem happens again.
