Evo IX Compressor on Evo VIII Turbo???

Does anyone know if I can do a straight swap of the EVO IX compressor housing onto my EVO VIII 20G?? I understand that I would need the EVO IX discharge pipes and various return lines, but has this been done and if it is possible where can I get a EVO IX housing from??

Are you asking if I have one, if so no I don't. If the swap is doable that is my next step in finding one.

the majority of the components on the CHRA and the Hot side are shared between the two turbos, HOWEVER there are differences that prevent you from doing it easily. The backplate (diffuser) and bearing is different on the CHRA and it would have to be swapped which requires removal of the compressor, among a few other differences that would prevent this from being done in someones own garage. You will also need the "Install kit" which is what you already said, the bolts, coolant and oil lines, and a new discharge pipe (which will likely need to be modified to mate up with most earlier LICP's.

You can do it, but the compressor housinge would have to be bored out to accomodate the larger compressor wheel of the 20G.

Doh!! I was hoping this was an easy swap-a-roo. Ah well, I can live w/ it until I decide to upgrade to a larger snail.
