How many passes have you got on your trans?

I would like to know what is the avg lifetime of the stock trans before it need to get rebuild. This is more of a drag racing ? but sometime trans dont just brake at the track they also go out on the street. So anybody would like to share there trans story.

Also this thread would be helpfull for the people that are planing on takeing there car to the track and autox or just want to beat the crap out your ride or drive it like it stolen as others would say.

My 6spd has:

- 150+ drag passes (100 or more were 12.5 or better probably)
- 50 auto-x runs
- 250 minutes of road racing

This past weekend I was able to powershift (NLTS) every gear with ease, so the tranny seems to be in good shape. I've just done all my damage to the clutches, I think, which is ok.

My '05 SSL w/ stock 5-speed has about 40+ 1/4 mile drag strip runs on it in about 21k miles.. only a handfull of those were 13 seconds.. rest were mid to low 12's. I don't rag on my car on the street, I changed out my LSD and trans fluids at 15k miles with Synchroshift and DiaQueen, and again at 21k when I got my Exedy installed. So far, no problems at all.

$750 the first time. I should be clear on some things. The stock trans was an early 03 that never had any TSB issues repaired. The only problem with it when I sent it out was a high RPM 3rd-4th shift grind (7700 would grind, 7200 wouldn't). Other than that it worked perfect, but I wanted that fixed and ALL the TSB updates done.

The second trans, the TRE rebuild that had 140+ runs and 22k miles also still worked flawlessley except for the same 3rd-4th upshift grind at redline (which developed in the last 2k miles of it's life and would only occur very intermittently). However, even though the tranny was still working well it had other issues that I would never have known were there (read my TRE upgrades thread for more info). That rebuild cost significantly more due to those unknown issues....

It all depends on how you shift and launch. If you dont hammer the synchos when you shift and dont do 7k dumps it should last well over 5 years and over 100k miles.

It all depends on how you drive it. I could kill a tranny before I finished 1 pass if I really wanted.

Transfer case went out at 20,000, front diff was in pieces. My CV boot was missing and my CV joint broke at the same time, not sure if that was a factor. Only a couple of drags, many autocrosses.
