Buschur Racing ready to"Attack"
Like others have said, they finished in the Top and thats all that matters. I'd say this is a pretty damn good start for a first time attack.
To my knowledge new pavement is slower and when Leh said it was faster I was questioning his knowledge. I thought Leh was a pro driver, shouldn't a pro driver know this?

I've never been to that RA so i cannot speak on how the old pavement was, but from my years working with race cars (everything from auto-x up to Indy), brand new pavement tends to result in slower times until its broken in. Especially when wet.

its ALL relative man....
the condition that the pavement is in BEFORE you pave it is the main factor on whether its gona be faster or slower..... obviously..... duh...
BUT.....
they repaved Daytona infield... FRESH pavement before our July race there last year... in the same car I went almost 3 seconds faster.. and only 4 turns were freshly paved.... midohio's surface is pretty close to how Daytona's was... not quite as bad tho.. but close....
and THAT'S all I have to say about THAT
Man, this is going to be a gooooood year.
For all you guys, take Leh and Greg with a grain of salt. They come across kind of harsh, but they are just VERY competitive. I meet them at Road Atlanta for the first time, and they are very nice in person. Greg and Leh both gave me some information on how I could be better at Road A.
As for the whole pavement discussion, there is WAY too many variables to lay into, to say which would be faster when. Let that go.
All of you can hate on Leh, and his comments, but here is the fact......HE CAN BACK IT UP. Like it or not, he will be the one to beat, if his car is anywhere near competitive. He gets the most seat-time, which you all will learn, is the key to winning. Horsepower can get you down the strip, but here in 'our' world, there are more variables. At Road Atlanta, where GSC laid down a 1:33 (freakin fast), they were one of less than 5 cars (if my knowledge serves me) to get below 1:40 in the time-trial group. Had I run, I would have been the 6th, however, I didn't secure tires till 2nd round, and I chose not to enter.
To Buschur, great car, look forward to seeing you guys at the track. I know you will have many successes this year.

Like David said he can make whatever power you need, so everything else is out of his hands suspension is Robert and driving is Robert. If you want to compare car's we all know how that would have to be done.

Sorry about the typo. I meant Mid-Ohio.
As for the track, I'm more used to them out here in the west where they tend to be pretty darn good even when they're old. I assume the track must have been pretty bad eh?

1st I wanted to say congrats to David and crew! Also all this track time will only make your parts better and we evo owners thank you for it. To the guys at GSC there is always someone with a bigger dick, put yours away and stop making yourselves look like fools.

And thats a fact.
And regardless of what you guys think is fast and what isn't fast, the fact here is the new Buschur car ran right at the top of the list that weekend. Comparing their times to times on an old, thoroughly rubber coated, minus a chicane setup... is just rediculous. Its sole purpose is to cause a war here.

Dave
Just to clarify for you guys. Our times were NOT run on a WET track. Robert was out on the track wet a few times just to get more familar with the track. The fast times were on a dry track but the point I was making is the track was freshly paved and was rained on each day we were there.
The bottom line is that it is great to see the Buschur camp trying something new. I used to compete in sound quality competition and we would cringe whenever the SPL guys did their thing. BLLLLLAAAAAPPPPP!!!
We called those guys the knuckle draggers of the industry. Every now and then one of them would see the light and convert to the real way to enjoy music.
Drag Racing= SPL and Roadracing=Sound quality. Welcome to appreciating the entire capability of the car knuckledraggers!
Another thing to remember is Robi is not a professional driver. If he was he wouldn't return my calls and answer questions. He is a great driver and would drive circles around most of us but doesn't think that he is the best there is. He did a great job in a new car, on a new track (pavement and experience) and was better than all but 1 car there. Any comparison to anything but what was there is rediculous.
I had Weaties for breakfast this morning and don't remember seeing Lei on the box...maybe they are waiting for him to replace Michael in F1?
And for the record I suck at driving so no calling me out, OK.

It’s your first car on the track and you did well. Heck I see teams on the track that come with 2 level trailers and four Corvettes just to run for one session for testing and they have been doing this since the 80s.
This guy here spent over 80K on his M3 and he does not even own a shop(normal dude). With you and your shop I should see no less than 100K on race car
