650CC injector out of a DSM into an EVO?

I have a 97 GSX that has 650cc FIC injectors. I am going to return the car close to stock and sell it. I want to put the 650cc injectors into the EVO since they are rather new. So my question is are these injectors compatable? I realize I will have to retune and all that good stuff, I just don't know if they are swapable. FIC has different part numbers for the EVO and that threw me off.

Id like to know this as well. I heard from somewhere the only difference is a clip or something? Of course, that might be compeltely false so I look forward to seeing a concrete answer.

No they wont fit. How do I know? I bought some FIC 750cc injectors for my evo but grabed the wrong box. The injectors I bought were 750cc for an eclipse. The end of the injector on the eclipse version is flared out and will not fit into the evo. So what I did was take a dremel tool and ground down the flare til it fit. So with a little work they will fit.

That was not the answer I was looking for. I have read some articals of people trying to put 750cc injectors from a DSM into an EVO with no success. I was not sure if this fitment issue was due to the size of the injector or if it was due to somthing else. I guess I will just sell the injectors and get EVO style injectors. Thanks

Thats the same thing FIC does if you order the evo injectors. Just grind down the flare/ bowl/ bell and your good to go.

I believe the on (dead) times are different also! We have some Helix 720cc's in stock if you're interested. They're Denso cores and direct drop in. The FICs sometimes seem to have a varying flow rates which sometimes makes for strange tunes...

Cheers,

Gary

In my experience the FICs flow ***** on to what they are rated at. Deadtimes seem to be fairly well matched, but I don't spend a lot of time tuning closed loop anyway. Based on the results I've had I only run FICs now. But I've only run 6 sets or so, your mileage may vary.

To add to what was posted above, it is correct to say that EVO injectors will fit in a DSM, but DSM injectors will not fit an EVO, for the reasons given above.
